Lakota East grad Kjos looking forward to UC game
The Oregon State University football team travels to UNLV this Saturday, Sept. 12.
But that doesn’t mean 2006 Lakota East graduate Casey Kjos isn’t thinking about the Beavers’ opponent after that — the University of Cincinnati.
OSU entertains the Bearcats on Saturday, Sept. 19, and Kjos, a 6-2, 205-pound redshirt junior wide receiver, will have some family and friends from the Greater Cincinnati area in town for the game.
Included in that group will be Kjos’ in-laws and East freshman assistant coach Jim Semones. Kjos married Susan Hartman, also an ‘06 East grad, on July 11, 2008.
“Obviously, I’m real excited to play my hometown team,” Kjos said. “Having ties to Cincinnati, I know some guys on UC. I’m really excited about the game.”
Kjos was a key part of the Beavers’ special teams unit in ‘06 and ‘08. He was redshirted in ‘07 due to a back injury. Kjos has three career catches for 16 yards.
Also on the OSU roster is Shawn McGarity, an ‘06 East grad who is a redshirt junior wide receiver.
