Lakota West 35, Fairmont 7

I’m heading down to the field with under 5 minutes to go and West leading Fairmont 35-7. Check back later for a complete game story.

Fairmont’s sixth turnover of the game leads to Alex Smith’s 13-yard TD catch from John Peters. Lakota West now leads 35-7 with 8:12 to go in the game.

No scoring in the third quarter, so Lakota West leads Fairmont 28-7 as we head into the fourth quarter.

Lakota West senior RB Jordan Thompson has 112 yards on 15 carries and 2 TDs at halftime as the Firebirds lead 28-7. Senior TE Alex Smith has 4 catches for 59 yards and a TD.

The Firebirds have four takeaways for 14 points.

Senior TE Alex Smith catches a 9-yard TD pass from QB John Peters, and West now leads 28-7 over Kettering Fairmont with 8:33 to go in the second quarter.

Jordan Thompson does it again with 25-yard TD run. West leading 21-7 with 3:04 to go in first quarter.

Obi Nwankwo’s 10-yard INT for a TD gives Lakota West a 14-7 lead with 4:55 to go in the opening quarter.

Jordan Thompson’s 28-yard TD run ties things up at 7-all against Kettering Fairmont. 5:42 remains in the opening quarter.

Fairmont’s Cody Tangeman races 11-yards up the middle for a TD, and Fairmont leads Lakota West 7-0 with 8:30 to go in the first quarter.

Hamilton scores again

Chris Tarrant runs 41 yards for a touchdown on the third play of the third quarter, and Devin Jarrett runs in the two-point conversion to make it 23-7 Hamilton.

Not sure why they’ve gone for two after the last two touchdowns. Kicker Chelub Davenport is still handling the kickoff duties, so he’s not hurt or anything.

Cleckley starts second half at QB for Big Blue

Not sure how serious Drew Townsend’s injury is, but Brian Cleckley is under center for Hamilton to start the second half.

Hamilton on top at hafltime

Big Blue get even when Lazarus Chapman returns a fumble 5 yards for a touchdown with 5:54 left in the first half.

Then Brian Cleckley, who is in at quarterback for the injured Drew Townsend, runs in from 4 yards out and Devin Jarrett runs in the two-point conversion to give HHS a 15-7 lead at the break.

Townsend was injured on that touchdown drive at the end of the half. It didn’t appear serious, but the offense was moving with Cleckley in there.

We’ll see who starts the third quarter.
