Lakota West’s Boykins one of top freshmen in state
Lakota West High freshman basketball player Monty Boykins is one of the top players in his class, according to Prep Spotlight.
In its class of 2013 rankings, Prep Spotlight has Boykins has the No. 4-rated wing guard and No. 12 player overall in his class.
Boykins, a 6-foot-1, 145-pound guard, started this past season on the JV team before being promoted to the varsity squad. He played in the Firebirds’ final seven games (six starts), averaging 4.6 points and 2.0 rebounds.
Lakota East 6-1 freshman Robbie Harpring (3.4 ppg) is ranked No. 15 as a wing guard.
