Are the Linzes goners on ‘Amazing Race’?
Wow, Tuesday night’s (11/29) episode of ‘The Amazing Race’ was a shocker. Suddenly the Linz family goes from first to last. Fortunately, nobody was eliminated at the end of the show, and the Cincinnati family is still in the hunt.
If they go, of course, all the rumors of their eventual victory are dead wrong.
But here’s a question: This is the second time “production problems” have drained a car battery and a team has lost precious time. I can’t remember that happening before this season.
Why should a team be penalized like that for “production problems”? What do you think? Is this fair?
TweetSimon staying on ‘American Idol’
Simon Cowell, the guy you love to hate or hate to love, will be sticking around American Idol for several more years, according to a story by the Associated Press.
Fox says it has reached a deal with Cowell to keep him around for at least five more years. The key to the deal, according to the AP story, was the settling of a lawsuit against Cowell by fellow British pop impresario Simon Fuller.
The long lead-up to the show begins in January.
TweetWhom do you want to win ‘Amazing Race’?
When last we left The Amazing Race, the Linz family of Cincinnati had finally moved into first place.
You know the rumors, of course: Wagering was canceled long ago on the show’s outcome because of heavy betting, supposedly for the Linzes. That’s been a pretty good indication in the past of who eventually wins.
But forget about all that. Is the Linz family your favorite? Or are you rooting for the Bransen dad and daughters from Illinois or the goofy Godlewski sisters, also from Illinois? And lastly, is ANYBODY pulling for the Weavers of Florida?
C’mon, comment and tell us who you want to win. Defend your choice. Shoot down other people’s opinions. We only have two episodes to go, so let us know now.

Martha Stewart Needs Your Help! - Naming Her Kitty!
(image from MarthaStewart.com)
That’s right, on MarthaStewart.com Martha is taking a poll on just what to name here new kitty. She has already named one of the kittens Sirius in honor of her new radio show on the Sirius Satellite networks. I guess the task on naming a new kitty is just too much for the media maven to handle alone.
This sounds like a tasks for her apprentices.
Check it out at http://www.marthastewart.com/community/polling/
Watch her show on Nov, 29th for the winning name!
TweetAmazing Race — what don’t you get?
I don’t want to be mean — and I certainly don’t believe that just because you say you are a Christian you should be perfect. But I’ve got to ask the Weavers, why SHOULD anybody else in that race like you? You whine and complain about how unfairly you’re being treated by the others, yet you do the same things, then spout off about how you hold yourselves to a higher standard. Makes me sad.
Then, though, there are the Linzes, who certainly seem poised to win it all. Nobody’s battling. Nobody’s playing dirty. Everybody seems to be having a good time. There’s still flatulence and belching enough to go around. They’re just goofy and unpretentious enough to be admired, a little anyway. And they’re probably about ready to receive that million-dollar check in a couple of weeks.
Remember when nobody from Ohio could even get on one of these shows? Now Ohioans win, place or show with regularity. Who says a Buckeye is only a nut?
TweetWife Swap Swaps Man’s Wife for Gay Man - Sues for $10 Million
The Muskogee Phoenix News is reporting a man who participated in “Wife Swap” is suing ABC, Walt Disney and its producers for $10 million after the “Wife” they swapped for his turned out to be a gay man.
Jeffery D Bedford alleges the defendants told him his wife was leaving him, they acted with reckless disregard, and threatened if he did not film the show they would not tell him his wife’s location and many other claims.
In a statement by ABC: “ABC is confident that RDF Media, the producer of ‘Wife Swap,’ treats participants professionally and with respect. The show is meant to challenge a family’s norms and moreover, the agreement between the plaintiff and RDF specifically stated that the swapped spouse could be either male or female.”
Reading this story it seems before anyone agrees to do any reality TV, you might want a lawyer to read the contract you are signing before you sign it.
TweetJust Five Candidates Remain - Who’s Your Choice To Win?
This season of the Apprentice is winding down with just five candidates left standing.
This week (Nov. 17) Clay was fired but it seemed that Donald may have been waffling a bit as to whom to send home. I’m a little baffled why Adam is still standing. The other four players are pretty strong, but Adam. I guess he’s just been in the right place at the right time so far… I’d love to see Alla get her teeth into him! I think she’s pretty tough!
Who do you think will win?
Adam - Young, Naive, Risk Manager.
Alla - Tough street smart self-made woman.
Felisha - Pilot - Real Estate Developer.
Marcus - Suave, Venture Capitalist.
or will it be,
Rebecca - Beautiful, Financial Journalist.
Who do you think it will be? Add your comments.
TweetWho Will Win? Martha Sets Another One Free - Who was it?
In this week’s episode (Nov. 16) of the Apprentice - Martha Stewart, Martha sent Amanda packing and I say yeah! Although, I am really wondering if Jim will ever go or if he will win the task.
The challenge this week was to sell the most of a new beverage machine called the Tassimo, an all in one hot beverage machine.Of course this machine is available for purchase on Yahoo. Click the link to see for your self.
What I liked most about this week’s episode was that you can see the desire of a few of the Apprentice candidates. What I continue to like least is Jim.
All the drama will end in just a few weeks.
Who do you think will win the job with Martha?
TweetNever Stop Modeling
I can’t believe that Lisa got the boot this week. She wasn’t as bad as Jayla this week, I think the judges got rid of Lisa because they could this week. Lisa is a wild, arrogant, drunk, but she’s a pretty darn good model. Actually, she’s probably the best qualified out of the girls. Probably not the prettiest or nicest though, and after all of her outlandish and somewhat crazy behavior, I don’t think the producers would have felt comfortable making her the winner. “Next Top Model Lisa Overdoses” isn’t exactly the headline that they’re looking for.
I hope they’re saving the best for last, the last few weeks have gotten a little stale. I think Cassandra’s probably the favorite with Lisa gone, with Bre close behind. Jayla, my pick on the first night, is still hanging in there, but she would have gone tonight, if Lisa hadn’t slipped up.
Is Tyra running out of ideas, or is prepping the girls to “look fierce” when the paparazzi pounces really going to help them? I thought this week’s theme was the worst so far. It made for boring pictures, and the girls just sat around and fought about the same things. Of course they’re talking bad about each other, there isn’t anything else for them to do! Compared to other reality shows, I would have thought that they would have made up some kind of game by now. Maybe they’ll learn how to play cricket before they leave London.
TweetYou’re Fired! You’re Fired! - The Donald Does it Again!
The week’s (Nov. 10) of the Apprentice sent two more candiates home for poor performance. While I’m sure that most of the show is in the can already, it does make me take note at the rate which people are being sent home this season. Will this mean an early end to the show?
I really doubt, especially based on the fact that the Apprentice is the number one show for households with incomes of $100,000 or more.
What do you think about this season so far… Has it lost it punch? Or is it the Donald? Or what show am I missing on Thursday nights?
Let me know!
TweetAnother Week Another Challenge & the Pesky Apprentices Remain
Another Week Another Challenge & the Pesky Apprentices Remain
Week 7 of the Apprentice proved not to be the week that Jim was sent packing. Those darn previews lead us to believe this would be the week…Ugh
Nevertheless, this weeks challenge sent Hottie Howie (my nickname for him) home after he failed quite miserably on this weeks task. The winning team is the one who sells the most stuff on QVC.
A do think a catfight might be brewing on team Matchstick. Last week, (Nov. 9) Amanda was pushing everyone’s buttons and with a little more pressure, perhaps a knock down drag-out fight… Please we need a little drama to heat things up! Stay tuned.
TweetModelz gone Wild
Kudos, Kim, just when we thought you were done for, you had your best episode yet. I’m not convinced that you deserve to be off of the short list of people who are going soon, but none of the other girls can say they were a manly looking rental car clerk on Veronica Mars.
I sure got tricked by Tyra this week. I thought she was going all Donald on us by kicking out the worst 2 of the week, because they were equally bad. Especially when one of them Jayla, was my guess for elimination because she was the star of last week’s clip show. So, the girls got a little lesson in how to manage an entourage from Eva, the winner of Top Model 3, who the girls proclaim to be “the most successful of all of the winners.” I guess they’re measuring that by cover pages of modeling magazines and not reality shows.
More ugly drama from Lisa this week. Getting drunk and admitting to be a wino is one thing, but taking a diaper for a test drive is approaching a new low for reality TV, even with the Jackass boys around. Sometimes she can be so smart, like when she was talking to Eva’s entourage when the rest of the girls were being lazy. Unfortunately, these lows are going to be just too much to overcome, and I’ll be really surprised if she can wipe those images from the judges minds when it comes down to picking a winner.
If you don’t like spoilers, stop reading now and come back next week. If you like spoilers, there’s a hidden one in this post that points to who gets booted next. At the beginning of the season, a pretty reliable source had only 1 spoiler for this season, and it was that this person gets fired when the girls go to London.
TweetAtta Girl LC
I was so proud of our Laguna Beach queen, LC, last night. She stood up to Jason who apologized for kissing Jessica in front of her friends and family at the charity event last week. Apologized? Not good enough.
LC asked Jason, “How would you feel if you saw me kissing one of my exes?” She went on to tell him how humiliated she was. She also told him that her dad would not let him in their house.
As the conversation dwindled to stares and awkwardness, Jason left. LC moved on or so I thought. A gossip site, gawkers.com, has posted the following message:
Some hot Laguna Beach gossip for you kids: At a VMA after-party in Miami, Jason was seen holding hands and locking face with LC. And if you’ve no idea what this means, you’re so much better than us. Really.
I hope it’s not true. Also, can you believe Kristen and LC almost became friends? I knew it was too good to be true.
TweetSex at Work - What’s the Point?
Sex at Work - What is the Point? That was the question Donald asked his apprentices in the boardroom this week (Nov. 3). Sex usually sells but Capital Edge was unable to turn a class on Sex at Work into a win. The team created a rambling class with the lead presenter still a virgin and talking as if he knew about the topic.
As a result, Marcus Finally goes home!
What we learned:
Marcus is really is a jerk… his exit from the boardroom was tacky.
Adam … struggled with the topic of sex
Clay… is gay…Donald was surprised - Donald’s made a comment suggesting that sexual orientation is like ordering at a restaurant…
Overall, this is an episode you should watch… the season is starting to heat up!
TweetCan I have a piece of your sugar bun? - On a job interview?
Each week of the Apprentice - Martha, has improved and this week (Nov. 2, week seven), is no different. While the use of the corporate sponsor was a little over the top, at least the teams worked well or failed and made for an hour of good television (actually 40 minutes or less with the DVR).
Matchstick was the winning team and their reward was to have breakfast with Martha at her country home. At one point Martha noticed Marcella still had a half eaten piece of a sugar bun on her plate and Martha asked to have it… mmmâ€?; aren’t those sugar buns delicious?” WHAT - The number of people I might share a half eaten anything with is quite small, let alone your potential new boss on a job interview. Maybe this is how Martha survived her time in jail, or she was flirting with Marcella?
Marcella’s response: “. I need to pinch myself right now, I can’t believe this is happening…” Frankly, this is just too weird. I guess Martha’s superstar glow is just too much for the apprentices and they’ve been blinded by her light.
BTW: Carrie and Sarah - Clearly should have been sent packing!
The trailer for week 8 suggested that Jim might go over the edge! I do hope this happens… as I’ve been saying for - weeks, Jim has to go.
TweetBeauty Remix
Clip shows are never great, but at least tonight’s was watchable. I could have done without seeing the same clips of Sarah falling, Cassandra crying over her hair, and all of the other drama that they rehashed. But the ‘never before seen footage’ like Coryn apologizing to Lisa was nice to see. I sure never would have guessed that those two kissed and made up before Coryn got booted.
The rest of the new footage mostly dealt with the girls having a good time dressing up or having pillow fights. The main shows center on the fighting, drama, and stress of being a contestant most of the time, so it was good to see them having a good time for the majority of the episode.
Based on watching clip shows from other reality shows (especially the first few seasons of Survivor) Jayla is the next out. Traditionally, the person who gets the most clip show airtime is the next to go. I sure hope not- other than the drama from the secret stealing incident, Jayla usually cracks me up, and she’s been one of my favorites since the beginning.
Next week is Top Model Week on UPN. 10 different shows, from Veronica Mars to WWE Wrestling are going to have guest stars from this season and past seasons of Next Top Model on them. I don’t think it’s going to get me to watch any shows that I wasn’t already planning on already (Veronica Mars is worth watching with or without models), but it’s an interesting marketing concept.
TweetLoca in Costa Rica
As is tradition on The Real World, the house-mates went on a trip together for a “job well done” on their work project. The cast went to Costa Rica and did some amazing things but as is a custom, the drama followed.
Danny seems to have a problem with drinking and/or insecurity. He said, “I just don’t think I’m good enough,” to Mel. He doesn’t trust her either. Wes said it best when he said, “The boy needs counseling.”
And then there is the melt-down. Danny asks Mel if she would ever sleep with Prince William if she had the chance. Mel said, “maybe,” if she was single. Danny, in a drunken jealous rage, breaks up with her and heads back to the hotel. (FYI, they make-up the next day.)
Wes, on the other hand, was great pretending to be Prince Harry. They actually had a lot of people going and there is nothing better than pretending to be someone else on vacation.
Anyone have a count on the number of episodes where someone is drunk?
TweetDog Days at the Beach
I knew it. I knew LC dating Jason was bad news. The guy is a dog. I’ve never seen anyone lie so much in my life.
Last night’s episode of Laguna Beach was supposed to be without drama. That’s what the kids thought early on. They created a nice charity benefit for local landslide victims. LC was producing a fashion show. Alex and Talan sang with a band. And an auction raised money for the charity. Everyone pulled together. It actually felt like one of those “feel good shows” like Extreme Makeover or Three Wishes.
Enter Jason. Refer to my previous rants and raves about how he keeps changing girlfriends. First he pulls Jessica onto his lap to watch the performers and LC sees him but Jason says Jessica made the move to sit on his lap. Later LC busts him pulling Jessica to his face and kissing her. Then he lies to her thinking she didn’t see it. He says that it was Jessica who initiated it. Finally, he lies to his friends to try and get them to back him up.
I couldn’t take it. I felt so bad for LC but she handled it so well. She wanted nothing to do with him. I tried to tell her. Well, via blogs for something that actually happened months ago.
Anyway, the previews show her talking to him. It looks like she stands up to him but if she goes out with him, I will have to give her some more advice (via blog). Jason, on the other hand, I have no advice for. Everyone knows his game now. Oh, here’s a piece of advice. Don’t bother moving to L.A. to chase LC.
