Idol’s Hollywood Week Begins with Tacky Twins
I’m unhappy that the identity theft perpetuating Brittenum twins wormed their way back on the show after an initial boot from the producers. Okay, okay, alleged identity theft perpetuating twins. It probably just makes for good TV. Those two seemed to have more face time than anyone else last night. ARGH!
I thoroughly enjoyed most of the show last night; there’s so much to say, so little time. However, I am going to make some early predictions for the top 24.
Kelly Pickler: I didn’t think she was all that awesome last night, but she seems to have made fans of the judges and she’s definitely got “the look.â€?
Paris Benet: Squeaky little speaking voice, BIG amazing vocals.
Taylor Hicks: Oh my grey haired man. Dye it baby, dye it, or I fear your career on Idol is short.
Megan Zieger: A little drama with the laryngitis and a little arrogance, but I think she has the potential to be good.
Brett “Ace� Young: Those curly locks and comfortable, slow, smoldering style…oh my. I would be surprised if this one isn’t in the top 12. Looks, presence and a voice; I’m ferklempt!
Mandisa Hurdley: I know Simon doesn’t favor the “fat� girls, but she has an easy confidence and a really pleasant voice. You go girl and let your hair down anytime you want.
Patrick Hall: Love him, love him, love him. All he needs is someone (like a friend of mine who will remain nameless) to trendy him up. It’s amazing what a new wardrobe and a few hair products can do.
There we go. I’m going public with my predictions. Anyone else want to join me?

The group of arrogant guys that were cut were all waaaaayyyyy better than that singing Cowboy dude. Be a man! If you’re not old enough to deal with it, don’t try it! I cannot believe they let him through.

I would imagine that Hollywood week actually took place before the Brittenums’ legal trouble came out, so that would explain why they’re still there. The real question I suppose is “why didn’t they cut them out of the show?”

I’m with you on Pickler, she’s cute and nice - I think she’ll go at least top 24. Personally, I love Taylor Hicks but I don’t think he’s going to get a lot of votes from viewers if he moves on :( Unfortunately, I’m sure the gray hair will cause trouble. I was SO upset that my sexy Rascal Flats guy didn’t make it to the next round! He was the guy who got booted with the other two guys who had huge egos. BIG disappointment in the night for me… But, ‘Ace’ is super hot, so that was slightly redeeming.

ok, I agree with the twin thing…they gotta go. My question is What’s with this young farmer dude who sings to his animals. He is very endearing, but come on…does he really want to make it on sympathy???Can’t believe he made it through!!!
