American Idol chooses the best top 24 ever!

I have to start by saying that I cannot relate to sore losers. Cursing and slamming the judges, that were good enough to sing in front of just the day before, is just uncouth. Exhibit some decorum people, please.

At the other end of the spectrum was the epitome of class, Mandisa Hundley. She boldly told Simon he hurt her but she forgave him anyway. I truly think he was touched and felt as small as he said he did.

Now for the fun stuff. The top 24 is (the bold names are those I predicted to be here): Katharine McFee, Mandisa Hundley, Melissa McGhee, Brenna Gethers, Stephanie Scott, Ayla Brown, Paris Bennett, Rebecca O Donohue, Heather Cox, Kelly Pickler, Lisa Tucker, Kinnick Sky, “Ace” Young, Robert Bennett Jr., David Radford, Jose “Sway” Penala, Elliott Yamin, Gedeon McKinney, Chris Daughtry, William “Bucky” Covington, Patrick Hall, Kevin Covias, Taylor Hicks, & William Makar. This is, in my opinion, the best top 24 American Idol has had yet.

So, how good were my predictions? I was only off by one. I predicted one person that didn’t make it but all the others did (the bold names above). How did you do?

Going out on a limb…here’s my top 12: Katharine McFee, Mandisa Hundley, Paris Bennett, Rebecca O Donohue, Heather Cox, Kelly Pickler, Ace Young, Sway Penala, Chris Daughtry, Patrick Hall, Taylor Hicks & William Makar.

The bold ones are my guess for the best of the best. But who knows, even the best of them can crack under the pressure.

I’m not good at keeping the names straight either, but there were a few standouts to me that I was happy to see make it - which included Paris, Ace and Taylor Hicks. Who knew he could play the harmonica like that? Is he channeling Ray Charles or what? I don’t know what it is - but I really like him. And Ace…well…all I can say about him is DUH. He is no-brainer top 12 material. Paris is just adorable and can really belt out a tune. I love her, but like the judges, I’m concerned about her ability to handle it all - and to keep her young voice under control. It will be fun to watch. As for the twins…BUH BYE!!!

I agree that this is a great group of finalists! I’m really looking forward to seeing how this season will pan out. My favorites right now are Lisa Tucker (who I’ve rooted for since the first audition show) and Ace (of course!). Hey Kelle - you forgot to mention one of the best things about last night’s show… THE TWINS ARE GONE.

So glad the twins are gone. So glad, so glad, so glad. I agree that it is a very talented top 24, but not sure if I would call it the best ever. Anxious to see what happens in next couple of weeks.

I unfortunately didn’t get to see the entire show last night, but what I did see, I enjoyed. This is where it gets REALLy good as far as I’m concerned. I am very much looking forward to next week!

I was so excited that Kelley Pickler and Taylor Hicks made it to the top 24! Taylor is one of my favorites, although it doesn’t seem like Simon is too fond of him… I don’t know that America will be either, but I’ll be voting for him! Way to go on your predictions Kelle! It’s hard to choose favorites - they are all so good and most seem like really nice people.
