The guys throw down the gauntlet on American Idol & new scandal immerges.

First, the scandal. I heard on the radio this morning that Becky O’Donahue had some “racy” and some nude photos published a few years back AND quite a sexy layout in Maxim magazine with her twin sister! More to come.

The guys “brought it” last night, most of them anyway. I don’t know about you, but I solidified a couple favorites and discovered a few more. Once again, go to the AI website to see photos of the top 24 to refresh your memory.

Out the door should be Bucky Covington from North Carolina. I don’t get what the judges see in him. He seems like a real nice guy, but out of his league. Am I alone on this? Does anyone else see it that way?

Also, and don’t shoot me, little Kevin Covais needs to go. I know he warms Paula’s heart and that lisp makes him an endearing underdog, but it’s time he goes back to the real world. For many, many reasons he can’t hold a candle to this group.

My last negative comment…Bobby Bennett, dude…Copacabana? It’s a good song but he was awful. I totally agree with Simon, Barry Manilow was sitting in front of TV in pain.

So Will Makar is young and has a lot to learn, but if I were a teenager, I could see his poster on my bedroom wall. He’s so cute, charming and fun. Maybe not Idol material this year, but I hope he stays on a while to watch him grow as a performer. Kind of like Anthony Fedorov did last year, but even better.

Patrick Hall being first last night had it tough, but I really like him. Not the most memorable performance of the evening but I if he sticks to the ballads, I think he has staying power.

So my newly discovered favorite? Elliot Yamin. Not the most attractive guy, but he took me by surprise last night. Just a natural. It seems like singing is as natural as breathing for this guy.

Taylor Hicks. I have been an iffy fan. I like him, but he’s been a bit “out there for me. Last night wiped out any reservations about him making it to the Top 6 guys, or even the Top couple guys for me.

Then there is Ace Young. Ace. Aaaahhhhh. My heart’s a flutter and I replayed his performance a few more times than I am willing to admit. I’m such a girl. But it’s that X factor Simon talked about that makes me swoon…oh yeah, and he can sing. Heavy sigh.

Tonight’s elimination night. I’m on pins and needles. How about you? Who do you think is going tonight?

Ok - the first thing I have to say is - Ace - humina, humina (you know what I mean!) He is such a doll, with a great voice and sooo not into himself. I just love that about him. I want to see Ace, Elliott and Chris go all the way. Bobby is gone - YEH! Bucky needs to go. And so does David “the crooner”. I can’t see him ever being able to change it up enough.

I’m watching the results show right now and after today’s news about Becky O’Donnel I’m glad she’s out. Not an “idol” as far as I’m concerned.

I’m with you on Bucky, Kevin and Bobby. The Copacabana was completely ridiculous! It was way too Vegas and way too over the top. I was totally with Simon on that one. I wasn’t that in to Patrick or Gedeon. Gedeon seems so full of himself, I just can’t stand him. My top two favorites right now are Chris Daughtry (so hot!) and Taylor Hicks. I will vote Taylor all the way to the top if he stays in! It’s just so obvious he loves singing and I like that about him. Hopefully America will keep my top picks!
