‘UNAN1MOUS’ premiere both interesting and intense
From the producers of The Biggest Loser and Beauty and the Geek comes something of a controlled social experiment.
Social experiment? Absolutely. Controlled? Anything but.
Nine strangers gather in a very sterile and monochromatic living quarters with no windows, no clocks, and absolutely no contact with the outside world. Everything here has the feel of a science fiction movie.
After being directed to gather across the bridge in the inner circle by a spooky woman’s voice, the unsuspecting nine find out why they are here. Projected on a large screen above them are the head and shoulders of a man who tells them they could win 1.5 million dollars. Lots of smiles. Then he tells them that the goal is to unanimously decide on one person to receive 1.5 million dollars. The smiles disappear.
After given a brief moment to decide whether or not to leave (none of them did), they were then told that if anyone leaves the bunker from this point forward the money is cut in half.
Nine players are thrust together in what has to be the most claustrophobic environment ever with a seemingly impossible task. Then the poker player, soccer mom, ladies man, office manager, fashion designer, 42 yr old temp, truck driver, minister, and dancer are given their first chance to vote. Of course there was not a unanimous decision or there would be no show, but they are also told there are consequences to not reaching a decision.
No windows
No sense of time
No contact with outside world
No way out
The first episode was both interesting and intense. Out of all the reality shows I’ve watched for some reason I felt most like a voyeur watching this one. AND I’m looking forward to see how it unfolds. Sick, I’m just sick. Hopefully I’m not alone and there are other curious and sick people watching too.

I will not waste my time on this show. The premise is stupid.

Just didn’t get it. One—I thought there should be more intro information, how did they choose the candidates, what was the pool like?, how do you get nine people to agree to give you personal sevrets without knowing the reason or monetary gain? Doesn’t make sense Something definetly fishy about this one. I’ll try it another week before the gong comes out.

Well, I started watching this last night, but then decided to call my mom to gloat that Chicken Little was history - so, only saw about the first 10 minutes of it. But, since I am such a reality junky, I am quite sure that I will continue to tune in to it!
