Sing and look like the ‘American Idols” do & Paula tidbits
A good friend emailed me last week with this link and just in this short time I’m hearing about it everywhere. The marketing genius behind this should get a big bonus. They have taken the “looks” of each of the Idols and found similar articles of clothing, shoes and accessories on the web that you can purchase. How cool is that? Maybe I’ll never buy anything, but then again, I’m already contemplating some crystal earrings like the ones Paris Bennett wore on March 21. Check it out!

Despite many rumors, which I have been neglectful about mentioning in this blog, that Paula Abdul’s erratic behavior this season had her head on the chopping block in March; she has now signed with American Idol for three more years. I must admit she drives me as crazy as the next guy with her over sweetness and light and particularly this year with what seems like drunken behavior on the show. However, and this is a big however, I would rather have Paula for three more years than a couple of the gals they were talking about talking her place. According to some of the rag mags, Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears were on top of the list to replace Paula. Oh my God! I can’t even imagine either one of those women sitting at that table. If I had my choice, Debra Gibson (former 2003 American Juniors judge and crazy fan of the show) would take Paula’s place if needed… but they didn’t ask me. So thank you Paula for signing your deal.
I cannot wait until Tuesday. I know I’ve said it before but the Idoless gap between Wednesday and the following Tuesday is almost too much to handle. We are really starting to weed out the “less thans” and getting down to the business of really examining who we want to be our next American Idol. I’ve flip flopped a couple of times already but I have to say that I am currently, with emphasis on the word currently, leaning towards…I want to say Ace, but I’ll have to choke that one back unless he can rock my world this week and I fear with country music…well, we will see. If we assume Ace chokes, I would love to see Chris, Taylor, Mandisa or Katharine win. I’m going to have a tough time voting once it comes down to the wire. How about you?
