Is ‘American Idol’ that much worse this year?
I have a question for those die hard American Idol fans who have watched for years…is this year’s humiliation factor that much worse than in past years? Last season was the first season I actually watched from the beginning. I used to skip this part because I prefer the competition portion. I love a good talent show. Anyway, it seems to me that there were hopefuls last year that were just as bad as this year. People just as picked on as this year. Laughing and humiliation is a part of this show, right? Isn’t that why ratings are so huge? Can we say William Hung?
It seems to me that people are much more vocal about the mean judges critiques this year than in prior seasons. Am I wrong? I must admit that I DVR the TV talk show The View and my, oh my, does Rosie O’Donnell have some choice words for this process. Even with Kelly Pickler sitting to her left she pretty openly slammed the show and it’s producers.
Again I ask, is it that much worse this year? Or is it possible that there nothing more interesting in show biz to talk about right now?

The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about — both for the show and for the wannabe singers.
