The ‘American Idol’ top 24 is finally chosen!
Ohhhh, this is first of the heart wrenching moments of the season. From 40 to 24. Tonight, somewhere in this group, stands the next American Idol!
The guys
Sanjaya Malakar made it this far when his sister did not which was obviously tough for both of them. A very low key Sanjaya is told he is through to the top 24. I’m so glad.
Brandon Rogers honestly I don’t remember him from the earlier shows so it will be interesting to see how he is starting next week. His clip from Hollywood week sounded pretty average to me.
I loved Phil Stacy’s Hollywood clip (does he have gorgeous blue eyes or what?) and then they mentioned that he missed his little girls birth because of being at the Memphis audition. Now, I remember him. Not only is he an adorable father but a really good singer. Yeah!
Chubby curly head Chris Sligh is not the typical American Idol but I love his gentle voice and I’m thrilled he made it though.
A talented beat-boxer Blake Lewis was a hit during the group sing in Hollywood but Simon explained that this is a singing contest just before he told him he was “in.”
Rudy Cardinas has a very interesting face and smile (no that doesn’t mean ugly it just means not movie star or model beautiful but yet quite attractive) and his voice was pretty cool too. I was really glad he made it though.
Paul Kim is committed to living barefoot, on stage and off. He is also committed to change America’s way they look at Asian singer and he’ll get the chance.
AJ Tabaldo has auditioned five times to get here and it all paid off because he finally got through Hollywood week.
Nicolas Pedro left during Hollywood week last year but in taking his shot again, he’s successful again. I hope he can make it a while and not get kicked out right away.
Quick clip of Chris Richardson and I don’t remember him but he had a cool voice and of course get’s though.
Jared Cotter has a nice voice but he dances like a white boy. Kind of like what’s his face from Fresh Prince. What was that characters name with the funny dance? Anyway, I’ll have plenty of time to remember as we go further into the season.
The last two guys are waiting patiently as the last two in the contestant room. Tommy Daniels, known as the “cocky” one wasn’t worried earlier but has a little nervous energy now. Sundance was great in the auditions but didn’t fare so well in Hollywood so it was a huge surprise that Sundance is going through. I’m so happy because I loved Sundance and not so crazy about the cockiness of Tommy.
The girls
Melinda Doolittle is good enough to step out from the background singer’s world to try her had at singing solo.
Gina Glocksen’s second year in Hollywood pays off because the girl made it through. I really like her but I don’t know how to describe her except as a little alternative, dark hair with little red streaks in it. I’m thrilled she made it though.
Hailey Scanardo is another one I didn’t remember but she sounded girl in the clip she showed.
Jordan Sparks was a bright spot in Seattle but Randy thought the nerves got the best of her in Hollywood. Nevertheless, she continues on the journey.
Stephanie Edwards is another one I don’t remember from the auditions and she voice seems kind of average or like every other woman singer her age. She’s very pretty and I can’t wait to see how she does going forward.
Leslie Hunt shone on her last audition in Hollywood. A very excited red head that I can’t remember either.
Alena Alexander is a weeping wonder. She cries no matter what and asks if she can stand she’s so nervous. Randy convinces her to sit and while she fights back tears she tells them that she gave everything she could. And it paid off because we’ll be seeing more of her.
Sabrina Sloan makes it but again, I have no recollection.
Single mom Lakisha Jones was one of my favorites during the audition weeks and I’m so tickled she is going on and hopefully will be famous enough to make some money for her and her daughter. She seems like a class act. Simon stops her to tell her she’s through because she is a great singer and Paula tells her she’s a great singer but also a very beautiful person. Sniff sniff sniff
Nicole Trellis looked comfortable on the stage in her little Hollywood clip and she should be pretty good.
Amy Krebs has a voice that looks much older and bigger than she is. She’s going to be one to watch!!!
Marisa Rhodes and Antonella Barba have to go to the “room” together but only one goes on. Antonella is through and honestly, she had a much better voice.
So that’s our top 24. How cool is this?
At this point I have favorite personalities probably more than favorite voices. But that will change by the time we are through next week I’m sure. Who are your favorites? Any predictions on the Top 12? Top 6 girls and Top 6 guys?
Oh yeah and don’t forgot to vote on this week’s Online Idol. I’m torn this week. There is not one clear cut favorite like I had last week.
TweetAnna Nicole Smith’s last movie coming to DVD. Why?
While this isn’t the re-release of less the than well known reality TV show, “the Anna Nicole show,” I was hoping for, Anna Nicole Smith’s last movie, “ILLEGAL ALIEN,” is set for release on DVD May 22, according to Edgewood Studio’s and MTI Home Video’s websites.
photo Edgewood Studios
IMDB.com lists the movie as a sci-fi/comedy Starring Anna Nicole and Joannie Lauer. The website called it “Charlies Angels with a touch of “Men in Black” thrown in. Edgewood Studios, the film’s producer, calls the film a “high-energy action, lowbrow spoofs and the high-camp acting reminiscent of the classic B-movie genre… How else could this film get away with saving the world?” After watching the trailer, I’m really not sure what you call it, a train-wreck? No wait, that is the new book being released by Anna Nicole’s sister. Ms. Smith and her son were investors in the project and Ms. Smith served as one of the movie’s producers.
It appears that this movie was never commercially released or rated, and sadly to say, it is pretty clear why.
It’s a shame, but it appears that the distributors of this movie are capitalizing on Anna Nicole Smith’s death for personal gain. I get that the movie is making fun of its self and the stars are knowingly playing along, but given all the real life, you really couldn’t write a better reality TV show plot of Anna’s life, of the last week or so, it just feels wrong.
Agree?
