Anna Nicole Smith mom wins stay in battle of burial. Judge Makes no ruling in custody case.
Today on “The Anna Nicole show”, a Florida appeals court issued a stay in the ongoing battle of where to bury Anna Nicole, keeping Anna’s body in storage awaiting a burial. Many experts are saying this delay almost surely rules out the notion of an open coffin during a funeral service. Remember it has been nearly three weeks since she died.
Virgie Arthur, Anna’s mother, is continuing to fight to have her daughter buried in Texas while two of the possible baby daddies want Anna to be buried in the Bahamas. Last week, Judge Seidlin rendered his decision giving the decision of where to bury Anna to Dannielynn (Anna’s daughter) guardian.
Judge Seidlin was also in the news today and this time it was for his court room one-liners or weeping during the delivery of his decision. Several of the news outlets are reporting that CBS has sent Judge Seidlin a letter asking him to consider joining the CBS Saturday Morning Early Show. The Sun-Sentinel.com claims the letter says:
“I have been extremely impressed by your compassion in the Anna Nicole case and I would love to discuss with you the idea of being our judge on a new segment, `Morning Justice. It would be a semi-regular segment in which you would resolve the ethical and legal questions of our viewers who send in the issues troubling them.”
During the trial, information surfaced that Judge Seidlin had created a demo tape for consideration by producers for a “Judge Judy” like show.
Meanwhile, the custody battle over little Dannielynn continues. Larry Birkhead and Virgie Arthur appeared in court asking for permission for a visit with Dannielynn by the pair. Reports suggest that these items will be dealt with in a schedule hearing in March.
The house where Howard K Stern and Dannielynn having been staying is also the subject of another legal proceeding. It appears that the scheduled hearing had to be re-scheduled as the court seemed to have mis-placed the court file. This dispute revolves around the question of whether the estate was a gift from a South Carolina Developer. Through a spokesperson, the developer indicated he wouldn’t evict Stern or the baby out of concern for the little one’s well being.
What’s in store in tomorrow’s episode? Where should Anna be Buried? Just who should get custody?

I’m really not happy that Ms. Arthur won this injunction. I’m not an Anna Nicole fan but this poor woman deserves a funeral and to be put to rest. A trial was held, an appropriate decision was made and if Ms. Arthur TRULY loves her child, she would have let it go and tried to make peace so she could be involved. She hasn’t taken an interest in Anna’s life up to now, why is she now? As for the baby, I truly hope Larry Birkhead is the father. He seems like the only one to have her best interests at heart and I hope he would be able to care for her outside of the drama. And let this be a lesson to everyone to have a will that’s up to date!
