‘American Idol’s’ girls better than guys tonight!

The guys stepped it up last night but I don’t think they are to the level of at least six of the girls.

Gina Glocksen dedicates her song to her boyfriend Joe. Oh know, a Heart song, Alone. Rarely has someone done a Heart song justice on this show. Carry Underwood is the rare exception. I love Gina but I thought she was a little pitchy and could have done better. I hope she stays longer.

Alaina Alexander dedicated her song to her mother. She sings a tough but popular Grammy winning Dixie Chicks song Not Ready to Make Nice. I like Alaina as a person but I don’t think she’s good enough to be an American Idol. I don’t think she’ll be in the Top 12. But I loved her dress. Beautiful color, beautiful cut…she a pretty girl who has to go home.

LaKisha Jones dedicates her song to her grandmother Ruth. Once again LaKisha chooses a perfect song in Leavin’ on that Midnight Train to Georgia by Gladys Knight. She seems so relaxed and everything is so effortless when she performs. Amazing. This girl could win the whole thing.

Melinda Doolittle dedicated her song to her two closest friends. My Funny Valentine is the song she chooses. She may have out sung LaKisha tonight. Melinda was right on pitch and had the perfect amount of her own style in there. Just wonderful! Remember when I just said that LaKisha was going to win the whole thing? I’m not quite sure now. AND have you ever heard Simon so glowing?

Antonella Barber dedicates her song to her brother. This is the gal that has fueled all the rumors this week because she was all nuddy on the internet. She sings Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion and she was just bad. She said she wasn’t nervous but clearly she was. Her voice was tight and she was having a hard time taking in a deep breath. When they told her their thoughts, she was arrogant and cocky. You know how Simon keeps talking about the talentless arrogant people on the show? I think he’s talking about her. What a little cocky witch! I want her gone. What a difference between her and the two gals that performed just before her.

Jordin Sparks dedicates her song to her younger brother. I’ll start this time with a comment on the amazing dress. Another great choice. Jordin struggled with pitchyness but I think it was nerves. I think with this Christina Aguilera’s song, Reflection, she struggled a little, but it was still a great song choice for her. The lyrics were just perfect. I like Jordin and I hope her bad notes don’t see her gone next week. The judges love this girl too. She beautiful, innocent, sweet and good, unlike the nasty girl before her!

Stephanie Edwards dedicated her song to her parents. It’s hard to believe that this girl didn’t want to go to the auditions. Good job to her parents for pushing her into it. She’s amazing! She sang Dangerously in Love by Beyonce. She too looked gorgeous. I wasn’t crazy about the song, but she can obviously sing. Not always, but most of the time I enjoy the performances so much more if I know the song and even though this is Beyonce, I didn’t recognize it.

Who would have thought Randy would be tougher on the gals tonight than Simon?

Leslie Hunt is dedicating her performance to her late Grandpa Bob. I wasn’t crazy about Leslie last week and I was hesitant this week when I heard Feeling Good come out of her mouth. Same song one of the guys sang last night. A Nina Simone and more recently Michael Buble did it sooooooooooooooo much better. She is too young and female and white to be trying to scat in my opinion. She was okay and she did look more comfortable this week.

Haley Scarnato dedicated her song to her finance. The pictures of the couple were just adorable. I didn’t expect Queen of the Night by Whitney Houston from her. It was a pleasant surprise. She dressed appropriately for the song, even though her dancing was a little clumsy at times. She was better than I expected but not necessarily a stand out compared to some. Ryan was very kind to notice that she was tearing up after Simon told her she’s probably one of four girls in trouble tonight. He didn’t put her on the spot or ask her questions. Ryan’s a good guy.

Sabrina Sloan dedicates her performance to her grandmother. Another very nice girl by the way. Sabrina also looked gorgeous dressed in black. She seemed to struggle a little with the higher octive of All the Man I need by Whitney Houston tonight but I really think she has a nice voice. What I worry about is that she’s not “special” enough in the end against some of the others. A little forgettable as Simon would say.

The guys were better last night that during week one but I still think the girls have it this year. Here’s my prediction of the Top girls; Gina, LaKisha, Melinda, Jordin, Stephanie, and Sabrina. The prize will be between LaKisha and Melinda.

And once again don’t forget our very own Online Idol contest. You have to vote for your favorite local performer!

I guess tomorrow night we find out who goes home and we can’t forget the visit by Kelly Pickler. I wanted her gone last year but I can’t wait to see her tomorrow. Go figure.

Judges rule. Anna Nicole can be buried and no DNA Test?

In the swirl of legal proceedings moving forward in the Anna Nicole Smith saga today, two courts have weighed in.

First, Anna can FINALLY be buried in the Bahamas - a funeral has been scheduled for Thursday, Friday or Saturday and the world can finally say goodbye to Anna. Unless of course, if Virgie Arthur were to file an appeal to the Florida Supreme court.

In a second decision, a Florida judge has ruled he has no jurisdiction to order a DNA test to determine who is the Baby daddy for Dannielynn Smith.

This moves the issue of paternity back to California and the Bahama. The Court in Florida agreed to hold on the Anna’s DNA sample for use elsewhere in pending litigation.

As of today, there are three men who claim they the father. Howard K. Stern, former boyfriend Larry Birkhead, and Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, have each filed a claim of paternity.

So, are the Judges correct? Should Anna be buried in the Bahamas? Will a DNA test ever take place? - Who do you think is the baby daddy?

The guys kick it up a notch on ‘American Idol’

So I thought the guys stepped it up tonight. Not that they all did spectacularly, but I think there was a greater effort given to return to the thing they came to the party with at their auditions.

Each guy dedicated a song to someone tonight…it was a little sappy for Simon, but I thought it was really sweet.

Phil Stacey dedicated his performance to Navy Band South East, his command back home who encouraged him to audition for Idol. He sang Missing You by John Waite and I thought he did a pretty good job. It didn’t bowl me over, but

Jared Cotter sang Marvin Gaye’s Let’s Get It On. Jared sounds pretty good but he seemed too much like he was just play acting sexy. It just didn’t ring true to me. I’m not sure why because he’s a nice looking guy and like I said he has a pretty good voice.

Once again I think Paula is drunk tonight and was rambling so Simon interrupted her babble to take the attention off her. What do you think? Am I just too judgmental of her?

A.J. Tabaldo dedicates his song to his parents. He sang Feeling Good recorded by Nina Simone and also Michael Buble. Now Michael Buble is one of my ultimate, all time, amazing, sing me into bed, male singer, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. If I don’t make the comparison to Buble I think he did alright but alas, that’s too hard for me to do.

Sanjaya dedicates his song to his grandfather who passed away when he was five years old. He sang an old tune, Steppin’ Out With My Baby. This kind of surprised me because the judges are always criticizing contestants for singing songs that are too old for him. He sang very tentatively and looked nice but Sanjaya needs to go home this week. He’s in over his head.

Chris Sligh dedicates his song to his wife. He was so sweet when he talked about how beautiful she is and what an encouragement she’s been. He sang one of the songs Taylor Hick’s did in last year’s finals…Trouble. I’m not a huge fan of the song but I like Chris. He looked so nice in the suit and you know he felt what he was singing for her. I like this guy.

Nick Pedro dedicated his song to his long time girlfriend. He sang the song Fever which was an interesting choice. Ohhh, this wasn’t too bad. When I heard he was doing this song I thought…oh no. Another one I’ve heard Buble do and no one can come close. But Nick, he did okay. I liked the tone of his voice and he was animated but not corny. I hope he stays around a while longer.

Blake Lewis dedicated his song to his parents. He sang Virtual Insanity Jamiroquai. When I heard he was doing this song I wondered…but thought if anyone could, he could. I was wrong, except the cool little piece in the middle. He had a great look. I love how each week he reinvents himself. But I guess my problem is more with the song than him. I’m not a big fan of the song but I love Blake.

Brandon Rogers dedicated his song to his grandmother. I was so surprised to hear he was doing Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time. But as I listened to the song I realized what a wonderful, tender song it is. Once again, he did okay but didn’t knock it out of the park. Once again though, Simon was right. Brandon has got to bring the wow back next week. And I sure hope he comes back.

Chris Richardson dedicated his performance to his grandmother as well. He sings a song I’ve never heard called Geek in the Pink. Oh yeah, he’s the weird bouncy, head bobbing guy. The song seemed to really suit him and he did it very, very well. In fact I really liked it. I’m just not sure about the weird bouncy head bobbing thing! But it seems to suit him as well. I think Simon is right, Chris is one to watch.

Sundance dedicates his song to his 2 ½ month old son Levi. Okay, so I got teary when he talked about how he’s missing his first smiles. Whew! Sundance is back! I loved this version of Mustang Sally and I’m in my family room chair dancing…hands in the air, wavin’ them to the music when my husband walks in and asks “what in the hell am I doing?” Sundance ended the show right this week. Last week I didn’t like his performance, but I loved this! Go Sundance, great song choice.

So Idol fans…don’t forget to vote in our Online Idol semi-finals! The best six of our brave Online Idol wanna be’s are waiting for your vote of confidence!!

Should Anna Nicole’s Mother decide where to bury her daughter?

I’m sure many of you have figured out I’m currently glued to the reality on TV of Anna Nicole and Britney Spears and while other reality TV shows are airing, I keep coming back to the real life sagas in the news.

Today (Feb. 27) the appeals court in Florida is set to review the lower court’s ruling giving the decision of where to bury Anna Nicole’s to her daughter’s guardian. But why won’t Virgie Arthur let her daughter rest in peace.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight before her death it was pretty clear how she felt about her mother.

youtube.com

Is all this fuss over Anna’s remains a desperate mother attempting to publicly work through with her guilt over she and Anna’s tumultuous relationship or perhaps an attempt to try to win custody of Dannielynn away from one of the baby daddies and control over the millions of dollars Dannielynn is likely to inherit?

So, should Anna’s mother have a voice in all this?

Anna Nicole Smith mom wins stay in battle of burial. Judge Makes no ruling in custody case.

Today on “The Anna Nicole show”, a Florida appeals court issued a stay in the ongoing battle of where to bury Anna Nicole, keeping Anna’s body in storage awaiting a burial. Many experts are saying this delay almost surely rules out the notion of an open coffin during a funeral service. Remember it has been nearly three weeks since she died.

Virgie Arthur, Anna’s mother, is continuing to fight to have her daughter buried in Texas while two of the possible baby daddies want Anna to be buried in the Bahamas. Last week, Judge Seidlin rendered his decision giving the decision of where to bury Anna to Dannielynn (Anna’s daughter) guardian.

Judge Seidlin was also in the news today and this time it was for his court room one-liners or weeping during the delivery of his decision. Several of the news outlets are reporting that CBS has sent Judge Seidlin a letter asking him to consider joining the CBS Saturday Morning Early Show. The Sun-Sentinel.com claims the letter says:

“I have been extremely impressed by your compassion in the Anna Nicole case and I would love to discuss with you the idea of being our judge on a new segment, `Morning Justice. It would be a semi-regular segment in which you would resolve the ethical and legal questions of our viewers who send in the issues troubling them.”

During the trial, information surfaced that Judge Seidlin had created a demo tape for consideration by producers for a “Judge Judy” like show.

Meanwhile, the custody battle over little Dannielynn continues. Larry Birkhead and Virgie Arthur appeared in court asking for permission for a visit with Dannielynn by the pair. Reports suggest that these items will be dealt with in a schedule hearing in March.

The house where Howard K Stern and Dannielynn having been staying is also the subject of another legal proceeding. It appears that the scheduled hearing had to be re-scheduled as the court seemed to have mis-placed the court file. This dispute revolves around the question of whether the estate was a gift from a South Carolina Developer. Through a spokesperson, the developer indicated he wouldn’t evict Stern or the baby out of concern for the little one’s well being.

What’s in store in tomorrow’s episode? Where should Anna be Buried? Just who should get custody?

The Anna Nicole Show - Who’s the Baby Daddy - What Caused Anna’s Death - The Funeral - The Paternity Case - The Money

“The Anna Nicole Show “- On the show this week: Who’s the Baby Daddy - What Caused Anna’s Death -Funeral - Paternity Case - Money

Even though “The Anna Nicole Show” ended more than 3 years ago, the “REAL”ity show continues. This week the plot twists read more like a pulp-fiction novel rather than real life.

On Thursday, Broward County (is’t this the county with the hanging Chad in the 2000 presidential election) Judge Larry Seidlin ordered that Dannielynn’s guardian should make the decision about where Anna Nicole should be laid to rest. Word today (Saturday) is that services for Anna Nicole won’t happen until at least Tuesday (Feb. 27), nearly three weeks after her death.

The Characters

virgie.jpgMom

Howardstern.jpgHoward

prince.jpgPrince

larry.jpgLarry

Virgie Arthur, Anna Nicole’s mother, is now fighting to block the judges decision regarding burial. Despite the video evidence making it clear that Anna did not want her mother anywhere near her child.

Now, we turn to the paternity suit and who owns the house in the Bahamas. Howard K. Stern, former boyfriend Larry Birkhead, Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, have each filed a claim of paternity.

Oh yeah, we still have the pesky issue of the money. After the death of Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II Anna Nicole had been fighting his family over his estimated $500 million fortune. Dannielynn and whoever gets custody stands to inherit millions.

Wait, I forgot, how did Anna Nicole Die? We still don’t have that answer either.

So who’s the Father - who should get custody - where’s Bobby Trendy - who will get the money - what will happen next?

K-Fed Visits Britney Spears in Rehab

24 hours later and she’s still in rehab and according to Extra and People she had a visitor today. According to reports on both Web sites, K-Fed dropped by the Promises Treatment center and stayed about an hour an a half.

Kfed.jpg Photo msnbc.com

K-Fed certainly hasn’t been out of the media spotlight even without the Britney swirl. His appearance in a Super Bowl ad for Nationwide Insurance created controversy for the rapper who a appeared as a low-wage worker slinging fries. Restaurant associations called his portrayal demeaning to fast food workers. Kevin Federline later apologized by saying, “The commercial is completely intended for me, making fun of myself and my own situation,”

What ever the case, his popularity seems to be on the rise as it appears that he may be pushing the “Toxic” pop princess diva to stay the course of therapy. Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, read a statement on Thursday after the cancellation of the family court hearing, “Kevin continues to be a very focused father with his children with hands-on management.”

So, can K-Fed be the force that saves Britney?

Anna Nicole Smith reaches out to Britney Spears on video!

It just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

US Weekly magazine is reporting today (FEB 22) that Anna Nicole recorded a video message to Britney Spears while each was pregnant last fall. The video appears to have been made by Anna Nicole who was eight months pregnant, carrying Dannielynn. Anna and Britney later gave birth just a few days apart.

The magazine quotes Anna Nicole as saying: “If you see this for some oddball reason - because I look at your stuff, too - and you want to be friends, I would love so much to hang out with you. I think you’re totally cool, and I think we’re about to have babies around the same time…I would just love to meet you.”

She went on to say… “You can call my lawyer, my best friend, my confidant Howard Stern. I think everyone has his number. He’ll give it out to you, Britney. Take cares , and I hope that you do great on your second pregnancy. I’m sure you won’t even see this, but if you do, I’d really love to talk to you. Bye.”

I’m sure the next few weeks are going to be filled with photos and stories creeping from every nook and cranny… but can this whole fiasco get any weirder? I mean really, I only wish I could be so creative to make this stuff up.

So what do you think about the Anna Nicole - Britney connection? Could Britney have saved Anna Nicole?

The right 4 go home on American Idol

So who is going home? I forgot that four left the show tonight. I’m kind of glad because I’m anxious to get some of the less talented folks out of there.

I’ve always known it was important to get into the Top 12 but mostly I thought it was because they got the use of the stylists. But I guess they save the star appearances for the Top 12 as well. On tap for this season is Diana Ross, Jon Bon Jovi, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Tony Bennett, Martina McBride, LuLu, Peter Noone from Herman’s Hermits and Barry Gibb. There’s some talent in there but nothing like David Foster and Andréa Bocelli of last year.

First the guys. Before I forget I wanted to mention that the judges actually look like they don’t know who is going home. There was suspense in their faces.

Paul Kim, the icky barefoot dude, is going home. I’m not broken hearted there but then again I didn’t see the guys the other night so I don’t know who may have been worse. No one I suspect after hearing him sing his way out of the competition. Oh America, thanks for making the right choice.

Now the girls. There is much more talent in the girls but there was a couple rough performances last night.

Amy Krebs was just too average and blah. I didn’t even listen to her parting song. Blah.

Fantasia Barrino (Season 3 winner) is back with a new album and she also announced that on April 10 she’ll be starring in the Broadway production of The Color Purple. The show’s producer Quincy Jones was in the audience in support of her. Big star Quincy Jones. Because Fantasia never went with the commercial pop music scene I never realized that she has been as successful as she apparently is.

Now another girl goes. I don’t want to sound politically incorrect but the white girls just aren’t representing this year.

Nicole Tranquillo took the news pretty well. Oh my goodness now after I heard her sing again I’m so glad she’s outta here! Don’t quite know how she got this far.

Last but not least…Rudy Cardenas is going home. I did not see the performance yet but what I’ve heard he was worst than the worst cruise ship or amusement park performers and after watching his parting song I can see that now. But his voice doesn’t suck and if he would have done a ballad I wonder how the results may have changed. Paula was certainly sad that Rudy was leaving.

I am not unhappy at all with those who are leaving the stage. Although I have to say I had a little crush on Rudy so now I have to find another guy to crush on!!!

I have to say I cannot wait until next week in hopes that the guys step it up and to see what the really, really good girls do!!!

The Britney Spears record appears to be skipping - Make it stop!

I’m old enough to remember when songs were released on 33 1/3 albums and if you played them too much or didn’t put them away correctly, they’d end up scratched and damaged.

The Britney Spears reality show - called her life, is like that damaged record, it just keeps skipping and I just can’t keep up.

Several news and gossip Web sites are reporting that the scheduled hearing for today has been canceled and that Britney has reported back for treatment at Promises in Malibu. Allegedly Spears and K-Fed have agreed that he would keep the kids while Spears was in rehabilitation. The treatment program is supposed to last 30 and 45 days rather than the current less than 24 hour stints.

Comments to this blog have ranged from who cares to mind your own business and while each view as point, who can help themselves from watching this real-life reality TV drama play out. I mean really, even the daily soaps could only wish for plot twists as rich and developed as this one… oh wait there is “Passions” on NBC… but I think the real life version is better.

Maybe Britney just needs a nudge like the record player that is stuck on the scratched part of the album, gently push it along and the record continues to play. Perhaps K-Fed and Britney’s family are giving her the nudge she needs.

What’s next? How do we help?

Britney Spears and K-Fed Head to Court - for Custody?

Will Britney Spears appear in court tomorrow? It appears that K-Fed and his attorney have scheduled an emergency session in Superior court in LA but for what purpose?

Numerous Web sites are saying Britney checked herself out of rehab yesterday to deal with the pending court proceeding. A report on splash news suggests that the pop divia met with attorney Blair Berk Wednesday. This is the same attorney who represented Mel Gibson in his very public DUI case. His high-profile client list reportedly includes: Reese Witherspoon, Lindsay Lohan, Halle Berry and Tracey Morgan.

Others are saying that who knows where Britney went as neither K-Fed or Britney will appear in court tomorrow.

familypicture.jpg photo B5media.com The current custody arrangement is a shared one giving Britney the majority of physical custody and guaranteeing K-Fed access to his children.

Earlier K-Fed had filed papers seeking spousal support and sole custody of the children when Britney sought to end their marriage. A temporary court order issued in early February granted Britney and K-Fed joint custody until the end of this month.

So, perhaps so did check-out of rehab to save the kids?… but maybe it’s the Britney that needs savings? What do you think?

American Idol’s greatest performance ever!!!!

It’s the girls turn and even though I still haven’t gotten a chance to watch the guys this week, I heard they weren’t so great. From the review they had at the beginning of the show tonight it looked like there were at least a couple of stand outs. What did you think?

Stephanie Edwards Simon compared her to a 1930’s singer at her audition and can see that but I think she could hold up to anyone you would hear on any Top 40 radio station today. If Stephanie was nervous, you couldn’t tell. A natural born performer as well as singer.

Amy Krebs This is one of my favorite songs so once she sang a few bars I didn’t have a lot of hope. There were a few bright spots, but overall she tried a song that was a little over her ability. She never communicated it; I never got the feeling that she was living the song verses performing it.

Leslie Hunt Let me say right off the bat that I love this chick’s jewelry. I also love this chick’s voice. She seemed a little put on or corny during her performance but at least she demonstrated some personality. This one has potential and I hope she sticks around a while to wow us. You’re all going to think I’m nuts but Simon said that Leslie was out of her comfort zone and I say she’s kind of like an ex-ugly tomboy who had plastic surgery and can’t quite get used to her pretty new dimples and girly skin, hair, body and clothes.

Sabrina Sloan Yes, yes, yes, this one has risen to the top of my favorite female list. She knocked me off my feet and probably every male in the room as well. I have to say though, I hate the hair. The tiny curls are too average and need to go. Here is a situation where I can’t wait to see what the stylists will do with her once she reaches the Top 12. And she will be in the Top 12!

Antonella Barba Antonella wasn’t spectacular but I think she has more potential than some of the others we’ve seen. There were some nerves in play but again, I didn’t really feel like she could identify with what she was singing. After the judges dinged her I couldn’t tell if she was hurt by the comments or just offended.

Jordin Sparks This girl has a lot of maturity in her performance and voice for a 17 year old. We have a competition ladies and gentleman! I predict a Top 12 finish for this girl too. She’s adorable and as my man Simon said she is full of natural talent.

Hey folks we’re half way through the Top 12 girls and while we have a break I want to remind you to visit our Online Idol page and vote on your favorite in our Online Idol contest. AND you can also vote on your favorite guys and gals in the American Idol running.

I haven’t seen any chat or comments on our very own local talent. There are lots of votes so we know some of you are checking them out. What do you think? Who is your favorite so far? I’ll be honest. My favorites didn’t make it into the top two each week. I don’t know if the winners have more support and voters or I’m just a little deaf.

Nicole Tranquillo As a voice major I expected much better. Bad, bad song choice for Nicole. She tried to perform but it felt really fake unlike a couple of the girls before her. I think the range of the song was too low and too high for her. Yick.

Haley Scarnato Can’t these girls listen to the advice of the judges about attempting the big stars stuff? She tried to sing Celine Dion and failed miserably. I didn’t think her voice was all that great. Again with the girls singing what they want instead of what is best for them. Not a wise move dismissing the judge’s opinion because at some point in this competition, you’re going to need them girly.

Melinda Doolittle Melinda picked an Aretha song, usually a mistake at this point, but wow did she nail it. A good choice for her and obviously the judges loved it too. Another favorite of mine…Top 12 here, Top 12. And Simon had a great point. So many of these folks have come out so arrogant, even following a mediocre at best performance and Melinda is like one confident lady while she’s singing and kind of timid and anything but arrogant when she’s not. I’m going out on a limb here. Top 6 for this one, probably even higher.

Alaina Alexander Sometimes she was really good and sometimes she was really really bad. A couple real sour notes in this one. But she could probably do okay with the right song. So is Ryan trying to date her? They would actually make a pretty cute couple.

Gina Glocksen I had such great hopes for this girl ever since I first saw her audition. A little different from the typical American Idol if you look at the “image” of Clarkson and Underwood but I would buy a CD from her and anxiously watch her career. She delivered tonight. Top 6 contender. Top, top, top…no matter what Simon said. I think this was one of those cases where he thought she was really good but wanted to push her harder to be that much better.

LaKisha Jones Oh my goodness! Talking about choosing a big song. Up for an Oscar next week by another American Idol and she’s all the talk of the town and you can’t help but compare. I have to be honest here…this is the first time this season that I’ve gotten the tingles. I literally got the tingles listening to LaKisha. I ran the DVR back and listened again and got tingles again!!! Brave, daring, a home run!!!!!!! This one could make it to the finals!!!!!!!! Well they saved the best for last and I cannot wait until next week to here LaKisha sing again!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness and she looked gorgeous.

Britney Spears leaves rehab again - Oops she did it again!

The web is all abuzz and this time it isn’t about about her hair.

According to various reports she has left her posh rehab center in southern California.

rehab.jpg fox news.com Feb. 20: Britney Spears smokes a cigarette outside the Promises rehab center in Malibu, Calif.

We all knew it just couldn’t last - I mean look at her in the wig. The are various reports the wig came from a drag queen she partied with over the weekend.

BritneyWig.jpg skyshowbusiness.com

It’s clear she’s struggling! According to a report in the Daily Record Britney left her kids with a nanny in a motel so she could hit the hot spots.

Perhaps the answer is one of her song lyrics - What It’s Like To Be Me, Toxic,
I’m So Curious Lyrics
or you choose from the 70 or 80 tunes Britney made popular.

So just what is next for this former reality TV pop star? Where will she turn up next? Exile Island anyone?

Britney Spears checks into Rehab - Hair for sale - Saga Continues

In a story that continues to twist and turn in the wind like a sheet in a wind storm, it appears that Brittney Spears has checked into rehab. MTV and other sources are reporting she has checked herself into, with the guidance of family, a rehab program. We’ll have to wait and see if this rehab program lasts more than an hour.

BritneyWig.jpg skyshowbusiness.com

J.T. and Esther Tognozzi, co-owners of Esther’s Hair Cutting Studio in Tarzana, California, where Spears had her head shaved, are turning the events of the last few days into a commercial windfall.

hairnew2.jpg

The Tognozzis have launched a Web site, BuyBritneysHair.com, and are looking to sell the singer’s locks for $1,000,000. They have created a Web site buybritneyshair.com with all the details.

Over the weekend the former reality TV - former pop diva, reportedly went into and out of rehab, got a tattoo and oh yeah, shaved her head.

I found this photo montage online that captures the events of the weekend.

As a reality TV fan, this is the sort of reality TV you can’t make up and for some reason, I and thousands of others just can’t get enough of!

So will rehab work?

Sorry folks.

But don’t forget to check out the newest of our Online Idols tonight. I can’t wait until we see who wins this week. I’ve been somewhat surprised the first two weeks.

Britney Spears goes Bald! Hot or Not?

Britney Spears goes Bald! Oops she did it again.

Who needs to watch reality TV shows with all the wacky news in the headlines these days? Most recently the ongoing drama of the afterlife of a reality TV star, playboy playmate Anna Nicole Smith and now, not to be forgotten, we have Britney Spears back in the news.

Several bits of news on the “former” pop princess have surfaced in recent days including reports she’s been in and out of rehab, reports of a new tattoo and the topper - she’s gone bald. Who knows what’s driving this pop diva - perhaps it is her break-up with Kevin Federline - or that he’s working and she’s not… who knows - but just where will it stop?

britneybald.jpg Photo ABCnews.com

Earlier this year Spears posted a message on her Web site acknowledging all of the negative publicity saying, “I look forward to coming back this year bigger and better than ever and to reaching out to my fans on a more personal level.” Her Web site, www.britneyspears.com, was down on Saturday, with a new site to appear soon.

Perhaps shaving one’s head is the start to “reaching out to my fans on a more personal level.”

What do you think - Hot or Not?

p.s. In case you forget, and I’m sure must of us did (on purpose), Britney and Kevin appeared in the UPN reality series Britney and Kevin: Chaotic

The ‘American Idol’ top 24 is finally chosen!

Ohhhh, this is first of the heart wrenching moments of the season. From 40 to 24. Tonight, somewhere in this group, stands the next American Idol!

The guys

Sanjaya Malakar made it this far when his sister did not which was obviously tough for both of them. A very low key Sanjaya is told he is through to the top 24. I’m so glad.

Brandon Rogers…honestly I don’t remember him from the earlier shows so it will be interesting to see how he is starting next week. His clip from Hollywood week sounded pretty average to me.

I loved Phil Stacy’s Hollywood clip (does he have gorgeous blue eyes or what?) and then they mentioned that he missed his little girls birth because of being at the Memphis audition. Now, I remember him. Not only is he an adorable father but a really good singer. Yeah!

Chubby curly head Chris Sligh is not the typical American Idol but I love his gentle voice and I’m thrilled he made it though.

A talented beat-boxer Blake Lewis was a hit during the group sing in Hollywood but Simon explained that this is a singing contest just before he told him he was “in.”

Rudy Cardinas has a very interesting face and smile (no that doesn’t mean ugly it just means not movie star or model beautiful but yet quite attractive) and his voice was pretty cool too. I was really glad he made it though.

Paul Kim is committed to living barefoot, on stage and off. He is also committed to change America’s way they look at Asian singer and he’ll get the chance.

AJ Tabaldo has auditioned five times to get here and it all paid off because he finally got through Hollywood week.

Nicolas Pedro left during Hollywood week last year but in taking his shot again, he’s successful again. I hope he can make it a while and not get kicked out right away.

Quick clip of Chris Richardson and I don’t remember him but he had a cool voice and of course get’s though.

Jared Cotter has a nice voice but he dances like a white boy. Kind of like what’s his face from Fresh Prince. What was that characters name with the funny dance? Anyway, I’ll have plenty of time to remember as we go further into the season.

The last two guys are waiting patiently as the last two in the contestant room. Tommy Daniels, known as the “cocky” one wasn’t worried earlier but has a little nervous energy now. Sundance was great in the auditions but didn’t fare so well in Hollywood so it was a huge surprise that Sundance is going through. I’m so happy because I loved Sundance and not so crazy about the cockiness of Tommy.

The girls

Melinda Doolittle is good enough to step out from the background singer’s world to try her had at singing solo.

Gina Glocksen’s second year in Hollywood pays off because the girl made it through. I really like her but I don’t know how to describe her except as a little alternative, dark hair with little red streaks in it. I’m thrilled she made it though.

Hailey Scanardo is another one I didn’t remember but she sounded girl in the clip she showed.

Jordan Sparks was a bright spot in Seattle but Randy thought the nerves got the best of her in Hollywood. Nevertheless, she continues on the journey.

Stephanie Edwards is another one I don’t remember from the auditions and she voice seems kind of average or like every other woman singer her age. She’s very pretty and I can’t wait to see how she does going forward.

Leslie Hunt shone on her last audition in Hollywood. A very excited red head that I can’t remember either.

Alena Alexander is a weeping wonder. She cries no matter what and asks if she can stand she’s so nervous. Randy convinces her to sit and while she fights back tears she tells them that she gave everything she could. And it paid off because we’ll be seeing more of her.

Sabrina Sloan makes it but again, I have no recollection.

Single mom Lakisha Jones was one of my favorites during the audition weeks and I’m so tickled she is going on and hopefully will be famous enough to make some money for her and her daughter. She seems like a class act. Simon stops her to tell her she’s through because she is a great singer and Paula tells her she’s a great singer but also a very beautiful person. Sniff…sniff…sniff…

Nicole Trellis looked comfortable on the stage in her little Hollywood clip and she should be pretty good.

Amy Krebs has a voice that looks much older and bigger than she is. She’s going to be one to watch!!!

Marisa Rhodes and Antonella Barba have to go to the “room” together but only one goes on. Antonella is through and honestly, she had a much better voice.

So that’s our top 24. How cool is this?

At this point I have favorite personalities probably more than favorite voices. But that will change by the time we are through next week I’m sure. Who are your favorites? Any predictions on the Top 12? Top 6 girls and Top 6 guys?

Oh yeah and don’t forgot to vote on this week’s Online Idol. I’m torn this week. There is not one clear cut favorite like I had last week.

Anna Nicole Smith’s last movie coming to DVD. Why?

While this isn’t the re-release of less the than well known reality TV show, “the Anna Nicole show,” I was hoping for, Anna Nicole Smith’s last movie, “ILLEGAL ALIEN,” is set for release on DVD May 22, according to Edgewood Studio’s and MTI Home Video’s websites.

annamovie.jpg photo Edgewood Studios

IMDB.com lists the movie as a sci-fi/comedy Starring Anna Nicole and Joannie Lauer. The website called it “Charlies Angels with a touch of “Men in Black” thrown in. Edgewood Studios, the film’s producer, calls the film a “high-energy action, lowbrow spoofs and the high-camp acting reminiscent of the classic B-movie genre… How else could this film get away with saving the world?” After watching the trailer, I’m really not sure what you call it, a train-wreck? No wait, that is the new book being released by Anna Nicole’s sister. Ms. Smith and her son were investors in the project and Ms. Smith served as one of the movie’s producers.

It appears that this movie was never commercially released or rated, and sadly to say, it is pretty clear why.

It’s a shame, but it appears that the distributors of this movie are capitalizing on Anna Nicole Smith’s death for personal gain. I get that the movie is making fun of its self and the stars are knowingly playing along, but given all the real life, you really couldn’t write a better reality TV show plot of Anna’s life, of the last week or so, it just feels wrong.

Agree?

Welcome to Hollywood ‘American Idol’ fans!

Welcome to Hollywood!

Tonight we get to watch 172 people spend five days of sleeplessness and torture to see if they are good enough to join the ranks of the top 12 gals and top 12 guys. I’ve said it before, but this is where it starts to get fun.

They started with groups of six who would each perform for about 30 seconds. After all six have performed the judges let them know if they’ve made the first cut or not. The first entire group of girls got booted. Simon said they were horrible because there was no originality. Strong message to send right off the bat, hugh. I wonder if they did this just to scare the rest of them.

The second six didn’t fair much better. Only two stayed including the sexy “Columbianita” Perla Meneses who wasn’t scared at all. But after Simon cautioned her that she was more personality than talent she tearfully explained to Ryan Seacrest that she is her personality. We’ll see if her cute little accent, body and personality will get her through to the Top 24.

Blonde country girl Baylie Brown started off the next round very well earning immediate feedback from the judges. She was one of the few that made the cut that day. And the day wasn’t over.

But day one was destined to end with some drama. Nicole Turner caved under the pressure of her mother and aunt who insisted she sing a particular song she didn’t “feel.” When she didn’t make it she blamed her mother who made her sing that song. So the stereotypical stage mom goes out to explain to the judges that she pressured her daughter into the wrong song choice. The judges try to explain to Nicole and her mother that she was not eliminated because of the song. They don’t listen. Finally, Simon gets so frustrated that he leaves the table and goes to the back of the theatre. When they don’t stop, he yells at them from a distance. All the pleading in the world did not change the judges minds and Nicole goes bye bye.

Day two takes the first look at the guys. It was certainly a better start than the girls had the day before. The adorable Bryan Miller had gotten through to Hollywood just last year and started things off fantastically this year with kudos from the judges right off the bat. Jarrod Fowler, the USS Ronald Reagan guy, sounded so smooth. Matt Sato, the kid who called his mother in tears after his audition, explained that his parents had not been very supportive prior to his making it to Hollywood. Then when he went home his mother gave him a rare hug. So he called his mother in tears again. Cute, young, pimple faced singer also got a rare “I love you” at the end of that call too.

Now on to group night. Ninety-two contestants have to group themselves with anyone they choose. This is easy for some and not so easy for other. This is where things typically fall apart for even the best singers. And this year is no different.

The group that has the sexy Columbian is struggling with her lack of ability to harmonize. There are harsh words spoken and finally the other three decide it can only make them look better when she is awful. Then there is the group that has two best friends that bicker right overtop of the opinions of their third, the adorable Baylie. While one of them goes off to flirt, the other two call it a night. Boy, people’s true colors sure come out when they are under pressure, don’t they?

Even after they warn the contestants that they must know their lyrics, many forget and they are booted just like that. The folks who are not perfect are sent home lickidy split. Lots of tears later there are just 56 left.

The 56 are divided into three rooms and no one knows if they are in a winning room or a losing one. After visiting all three rooms, we now have it down to 40 people. Best friends were split up, siblings were split up, but after the tears it’s time to celebrate!!

Tomorrow night we will know who is in the Top 24!!!!

Oh my goodness, don’t forget to check out the new six people in our Online Idol contest! And don’t forget to check out which two are moving forward to the semi-finals from last week.

How will you spend your snow day? Reality TV Marathon?

Having already cleaned the walks, there is little else for a reality TV fan to do than to fill the day with reality TV. Searching the schedule I discovered that Bravo TV is running a marathon of the “Real Housewives of Orange County.” If you haven’t checked this one yet - check it out! - it’s worth a watch.

The show follows five families and all their wacky excessiveness in their relationships, their travels, and their lives. They live in one of the wealthiest planned communities in Southern California and lack for little except a little normality… Oh yea, the housewives are all hotties. So vanity and all that goes along with it like, plastic surgery, BOTOX, and the like are all fair game for discussion on the show.

So with little else to do, why not grab your beverage of choice, sit back and relax with the “Real Housewives of Orange County.”

“The Apprentice 6” are you bored yet?

Season 6 of “The Apprentice” is turning out to be one the most boring of any to date. Last night’s episode (Feb. 11) might have been the most boring EVER!!!

The task this week, was for the teams to go to a Sue-Bee honey farm - harvest the honey and sell it. The team that sells the most wins sort of an effort. What resulted was a 30-40 minute commercial for Sue-Bee honey, who might want to ask for a refund of their sponsoring fees!

suebee.jpg photo nbc.com

The only excitement in this show was the occasional complaint that someone had been stung through their suit. I couldn’t wait for this show to end… I even fast forwarded through several of the parts because I just couldn’t take it.

Aimee pushy tone in the boardroom as the winning project manager may have also put me in over the top… was she running the show or was Donald? You tell me - it was hard to say.

I hope the show starts to improve or I may delete from the que - it really has become that predictable and boring!

Any thoughts?

The latest ‘American Idol’ gossip

Here’s the fun and sleazy and possibly true…or not American Idol gossip this week.

Remember Ashlyn Carr? She was the adorable little girl with the big voice that got an unprecedented second chance to come back before the judges. Rumor has it that she had been “uninvited” to Hollywood because of an arrest last year for putting sugar in the gas tank of her ex-boyfriend. As it stands, reports now say that she was not and will not be charged in the incident. So what does this mean for her American Idol career? Will she be in Hollywood or not? Guess we’ll have to wait until Tuesday to find out.

In another “wild child” incident, Akron Watson (who came with his cousin who couldn’t sing) was also uninvited to Hollywood because of a past pot arrest in 2003. Akron says that he disclosed this information to American Idol producers before he ever auditioned. Now he’s pretty pissed off that he went through all that for nothing. Do I smell potential law suit or is it all just swept under the rug?

Poor Kelly Pickler. Her dad has been arrested again. This famous father just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. This time he was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend with a steak knife. What a loser!

Remember the three girls who skated into the audition all dressed like car hops? Two went on and one went home. Ebony Jointer, the third and best of the group, has a little secret. Seems like she was a member of a Lingerie Football League team, the Chicago Bliss. This league competes in a practically porn version of pay-per-view lingerie football. Rumor has it she also attempted to be America’s Next Top Model. Sounds like this girl is so eager for fame that she’ll do almost anything.

So Mr. Simon Cowell is in the news again. Apparently he is being accused of planting a British pop star into the competition. Tom Lowe said he was a back-up singer for a British pop group Take That before he wowed the judges at the audition. Then he made a big mistake (allegedly). At the end of his audition he said “I was at BMG Records in London at the same time that you were there.” Lowe was a member of British boy band NORTH AND SOUTH who had several hit singles on Simon’s record label. Simon claims he doesn’t remember him. I don’t find that hard to believe. I mean as a record producer how many people would you meet? You couldn’t be expected to remember all of them, specially the ones who had only minor success. Others in the media are not so convinced. They are taking this opportunity to cry once again that the show is fixed.

So that’s some of the American Idol sleaze for this week. I’ll keep my eye on the TV and internet for more so I can keep you informed! Because it’s just so hard to resist.

“The Anna Nicole Show” Should E! rerun it?

From 2002-2004 America had the chance to peer into the daily goings on of Anna Nicole’s, you couldn’t make this stuff up, reality TV tale in “The Anna Nicole Show” on E!. For anyone who watched it when it first aired got to see the train wreck her life was becoming. The show started about the time the will for her former husband, the billionaire, was being settled, contested won and lost.

250px-Anna_Nicole_Show.jpg photo IMDB

The show focused on her life after she fell out of public eye and as she attempted to deal with her new plus-size, her lack of work as a model, her life with her estranged family, her interaction and our introduction to the ridiculous Bobby Trendy, her attempts to date and the raunchy escapades therein and of course her crazy affection for that yippy dog - Sugar pie (a miniature Poodle).

There is little question that Anna’s life has been a series of crazy, over-the-top, unbelievable up’s and downs and thanks to the fact most of her life being so public and often caught on tape, much of it still exists in archives for us to watch again and again.

“The Anna Nicole Show” was less than a ratings success the first time around and now, with all the controversy swirling about, it would seem that E! might have a hit in their archives. I’d love a second chance to watch the craziness all over again. So should they re-air these episodes? I say, bring ‘em back

“Survivor Fiji” Tonight - Are you going to watch?

“Survivor Fiji” begins tonight (FEB. 8) with a cast that was recruited rather than one that had entered for a chance to compete. In another twist, 10 of the contestants are from California and one of the contestants is from Cincinnati. One contestant, Rita Verreos, a former professional ballerina, is no stranger to reality TV as her brother, Nick Verreos, was a contestant on Project Runway season two.

According to an interview with CBS, Jeff Probst said that the original cast size was to be 20 but one of the cast members had a panic attack as they were setting sail.

For this season, the show will not divide teams based on race but rather will work on the idea of creating a class system pitting the rich against the poor - the haves vs. the have nots.

A search on IMBD reveals that several of the contestants have starred in or worked in the TV or movie industry. This makes one wonder, if the cast has been recruited, and many have worked in the acting business, how much is really reality and how much is acting?

“Top Design” desginer reveals he is HIV positive

Last week (Jan. 31) on “Top Designer” we saw one of the designers get crazy-mad at one of his teammates. On last night’s episode (Feb. 07), USA Today is reporting, that John Gray, will discuss his HIV status with his teammates.

One of the original reality shows, “The Real World: San Fransisco,” dealt with this issue when one of the housemates reveled he was HIV-positive. During the season, we watched the housemates work through their understanding of HIV and watched as Pedro Zamora, worked tirelessly to educate people about HIV and AIDS.

According to the story in USA Today, Gray claims his angry outbursts were fueled by a change in testosterone levels used to combat the lower levels caused by HIV. “Gray, 40, is a homosexual who was diagnosed as HIV-positive in 1993. (Those who are infected with the human immunodeficiency virus, which causes AIDS, don’t necessarily have the disease.)”

The producers of the show knew of his condition during casting and since it wasn’t a relationship show, they decided it wasn’t an issue.

The show airs on BravoTV Wednesday at 10 p.m.

Best and worst of 2007 ‘American Idol’ auditions.

Yeah, the last night of auditions before Hollywood. I’m so over these shows but next week it really starts to get good and I cannot wait!

On the Paula front…it was apparent to me that in some of these clips she was glassy eyed and acting just ridiculous. I think there is no doubt that she was either on something or drunk some, or most, of the time. Oh yeah, she’s a really mean drunk too.

To correct the headline, tonight wasn’t really the best and worst of 2007…it was more like a bunch of stuff that wasn’t good enough or bad enough to make the previous shows. However, I did discover a couple kids that I’ll be anxious to see through the next rounds.

Crista Fassino bases her outfit on how she feels each day. So how does she feel if she is wearing red netting? It’s something you find on a craft project, not an outfit. She seemed to be feeling very confident that day singing her heart out a song that no one could understand.

Tami Gosnell was different. Kind of a throw back to the folksy, hippy era with a fabulous voice and even though she wasn’t conventionally beautiful, Simon loved her and she left with a golden ticket.

Paul Kim wanted a chance to prove that there are talented Asians in the world and he did prove it. Wow. What came out of his mouth was unexpected for me but oh so wonderful. Paula said his voice was “smoky” and I agree with that assessment. He was amazing and I can’t wait until Hollywood to see how he does.

I never really knew that so many come back to audition season after season but they did a little montage about all the folks that have been there before. Gina Glocksen was one that they remembered from a previous season. Fawning over Simon didn’t keep her from belting out a great audition. Not as strong as some of the others; in fact I doubt she makes it through Hollywood, but she got to hug Simon. Kudos to all of them for their persistence.

How ridiculous is it to audition in a group. Heather Renne was one of the three Frisco and she sounded better than I expected, but not awesome. I then expected the other two to stink but Ashley Cleland was a little better than Heather. Then Ebony Jointer blew them both away. In a grueling judging of the three two of them go on to Hollywood. Oh, how awful to be Heather. Poor girl. But Ebony was beautiful and just outstanding!

Before a humorous barrage of awful dancers, composer and singer “WES” took the yucky cake for the evening. In fact he looked to me a little like a scary cult leader.

Alexander Nazario touched my heart. He practices his singing three hours a day and is very dedicated to his dancing and singing. He was very sincere and wanted the judges opinion. They gave him an honest opinion and he took it well because he wanted them to be honest with him. These judges were honest but respectful and kind. I’ll bet they are like that more than we see. America just likes the meanness. Unfortunately few people actually admit it.

Lakisha Jones was looking for a new start for herself and her three year old daughter. I instantly liked her during her interview that I was routing for her. She sang an Aretha Franklin song and I was worried when she said it but again, as soon as she opened her mouth I understood why she said that she felt her voice was a gift instead of a talent. She was a hec of a performer as well. I love her.

Honestly, I was so worried early in the season that we weren’t going to get as many talented folks as last year, but honestly now I’m wondering if this crew may end up being better. I guess only time will tell. We get to witness probably one of the most grueling weeks these kids will ever have. So the field will be narrowed from 172 to 12 girls and 12 guys. Next week is Hollywood week baby!!

Don’t forget to vote for your favorite Online Idol. Your vote counts for someone possibly in your neighborhood. Also remember if you have a favorite, you can vote once an hour. Honestly, my favorite is not in the top two and I think that’s nuts so believe me, I’m voting every time I remember!!! Vote Here Now!

‘American Idols’ darling, disastrous and our own Online Idol!

YOU BE THE JUDGE! Come on, I know most of you American Idol fans have always wanted to sit in one of the chairs behind the judges table with Randy, Paula and Simon. Now’s your chance. Make sure you come back each week to have your say on who goes to the finals and becomes your Online Idol! Click here and listen to the most courageous among us who have put it all on the line and sang for a camera. Come on Idol fans, you gotta vote for your favorite so we end up with a really good Online Idol.

Hello San Antonio, Texas! It’s the last stop before Hollywood and the 11,000 contestants came from all over the country to grace the audition room and try to win over the judges.

AC/DC, Billy Idol, and Ozzy he’s not but Bryan Kyrish tried to scream his way to Hollywood. Actually I think I enjoyed the yelling more than the singing. But somehow I don’t think this guy can pull off ABBA week. He left the room with a smile and with class instead of some of the folks to come.

Very pretty twenty-four year old Haley Scarnato realizes that there are folks out there are better than her but seems pretty secure in her own ability, which is not too bad by the way. She’s hot and can sing and Simon’s eye brows rose as soon as she entered the room. Not a big surprise that she’s on her way to Hollywood although she needs to kick up the unique factor according to Simon. And you know what? Once again I agree with the man in the black T-shirt.

Jasmine Holland was shy and unfortunately because she was poured into her bright red gauchos, Simon and Randy started the laughing pretty quickly. Then the laughing continues through the horrible audition. I agree that the laughing off the bat was ridiculous but this one left with no class accusing Randy and Simon of being nothing. Well, I guess these two nothings are two of the richest nothings around.

Baylie Brown, the real country girl, has an amazing voice and doesn’t sound like a copy-cat of anyone. She’s blonde and pretty and has a gorgeous smile. She’s got an adorable personality and Simon accuses her of being Commercial with a capital “C” which she wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or not. I can’t wait to see what she does in Hollywood.

Cousins William Green and Akron Watson were really cute. Unemployed and hoping for their big chance William we first and had the judges laughing hysterically. You know what? Randy is the worst of the trio this year at laughing at people. What’s up with that? William wasn’t at all surprised that he didn’t get through and announced to the judges that he was going to put on a show for the cameras outside the audition room and he left yelling and screaming insults. Poor cousin Akron Watson wasn’t sure what to think. He walked in very tentatively like he wasn’t sure if he wanted to audition or smash one of their head in. But boy once he started singing…what a pleasant, pleasant surprise after William. But Simon was bored again so Akron kicked into another song that must have impressed him because after that he’s on to Hollywood. Well, at least one of the cousins will represent.

Bluesy, soulsy Sandie Chavez has been singing since she was six at talent shows and various other venues including singing for the major of Houston. I knew as soon as they showed this clip of her talking about everything she had done previously she had to be awful. And she was! Simon asked if she was serious and Sandie just burst into tears.

Ashlyn Carr was beaten in high school because she had a good voice. She had a concussion and she blacked out. Wow. She’s gorgeous with a beautiful smile and she’s full of personality when she sings. Her voice reminds me a little of a young Lauren Hill. How could these people turn her down? She did have strange expressions on her face during her song but she could sing. I cannot believe they wouldn’t give her another chance. Are all three of them drunk?

But…they decide they made a mistake with this one and have her come back in. This is a first. Is it? I didn’t watch this portion of American Idol for the first several seasons. But I’m so glad they asked her back in. I’m also so glad that they gave her a chance in Hollywood. I’m sure that there are several performers currently on the charts that also have bad habits. It’s all a matter of opinion. Look at Taylor’s dancing! So glad, so glad, she’s going on to Hollywood. I love her voice!!!

I know its cliché, but…Last but definitely not least, Jimmy McNeal sang his way into my heart. He was fun and full of personality and great smile and I think he’s got a good chance at making it through Hollywood!!

Tomorrow night sounds like it will be a show full of weirdos. Although Simon says at one point that someone has a great voice in the previews, I still think it will be full of losers. We’ll see.

Don’t forget to vote for our very own Online Idol. These are folks from your neck of the woods who are waiting anxiously to see if they get voted out or they are on to the semi-finals. Vote Here!

Tim Gunn + Liz Claiborne - Project Runway - Tim = ?

Well change in the air for Tim Gunn. For some weeks now speculation has been swirling regarding whether Tim would be appearing in the next season of Project Runway 4. On Thursday, the picture got a little clearer when Liz Claiborne announced Tim would be joining the company as its creative director starting in early March.

Since 2004, Tim has been appearing as “Project Runway’s” mentor to the next hot - fashion designer wannabe. A few weeks ago, it was announced that Tim would be staring in his own show on Bravo called ”Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style.”

Tim Gunn photo - NBC.com

Tim won the hearts of millions of reality TV fans with the clever application of his extensive vocabulary and his soft-spoken style including one his trademark lines, “carry on” and “Make it work” The producers of project runaway are suggesting that Tim will be back for another season, although no contract has been signed. Contract or not, it would seem that Tim schedule is already pretty full without another season of the show.

For the moment, it appears that Tim Gunn might just be fashion world’s hottest commodity.

Will you watch project runway without Tim Gunn as this shows mentor?

Top Chef - Top Rated Cable Food Show

Whether it’s the notion of creating something from nothing or perhaps the tension between Marcel and everyone else or it’s just the fact that Americans love food, Bravo TV has reaped the benefits by recording record ratings.

According to the most recent Nielsen research numbers, Top chef was the number one rated food series for the month of January. The real ratings kicker for the show was the finale with nearly 4 million people tuning in to watch (JAN. 31).

If you missed this series, don’t worry, one of the cool things about Bravo TV is that it usually runs multiple reruns. Checking Bravo’s TV schedule it appears there’s multiple opportunities to watch much of this season over the next three or four days.

Here’s a link to the schedule. Enjoy!

Did the right chef win Top Chef? Thoughts?

Oh my, what a wacky to begin of the finale of “Top Chef.”

Marcel was a stung by a sea urchin and someone in the background decided that someone needed to pee on his hand to keep his hand from getting infected… did we really need to see this?

The two chefs were allowed to choose two of the losing chefs to help in the kitchen. When it was Marcel’s turn to pick his team, most of the possible candidates seemed to wince hopping they wouldn’t be picked.

Now to the cooking…

Ilan choose a menu influenced by the flavors of Spain and really seemed to impress the judges.

After the first course of Marcel’s service, the flow seemed to fall apart quickly. Missing ingredients and a lack of direction from Marcel to his kitchen helper left the competition leaning heavily in Ilan’s favor.

The food looked fantastic and I would have loved to be at the judges table!

The competition turned to the judges- interviews with the souse chefs continued to tip the scales toward Ilan.

America voted in an Idol like fashion - they choose Ilan as their favorite.

And the winner is… Ilan

Food & Wine’s early posting of Ilan’s profile did reflect who the winner would be. So, another season is over and I’m really glad Marcel didn’t win. It didn’t really matter in the end who won as long as it wasn’t Marcel.

What’s your take on “Top Chef” this season?
