America’s Got Talent names dummy as winner.
For once, I predicted the winner, Terry Fator. While he’s certainly no dummy it was the use of his many dummies along with their(his) many voices that propelled him to the top spot of “America’s Got Talent”.
Terry Fator -
He may not have been the best overall talent but he was able to win over the judges pretty early on in the competition and seal his fate as the winner of the million dollar cash prize.
I’ll admit I was late to the game on this show but American’s made this the top rated the show for the summer with more than 13 million people tuning in each week. What first hooked me in was the Glamazons.. My thought - If the could get out their and strut their stuff… anyone can do it.
The Glamazons, as it turns out, have a Web-site an agent and the whole nine yards as plus-sized pussy-cat dolls wannabes.
I wouldn’t say the most talented won… but I would say the show’s a fun one. “America’s Got Talent” has been renewed for a third season.
Did your favorite win?

Hey Nancy, I agree with your comments. I’m pretty sure the success of this and some of the other talent based competition has to do with the general nature of the show. There’s a little something in every show for someone 9 to 90 to enjoy. It really seemed that Terry should have already been working in a Vegas like setting somewhere… how did he go undiscovered so long?

Hey Daniel Thanks for your post I didn’t mean to suggest the Glamazons were the most talented of the bunch… I just thought they had a lot of moxie to buck the preconceived notions of what a performer should be. Being a late comer to the show I really can’t say who should have won but I would definitely agree that Terry is quite a gifted performer. Thanks again for reading!

YES! My favorite did win! I picked Terry and his ‘Friends’ from the very beginning. He had such a great voice and then using it to imitate others to the “T,” was absolutely amazing to me. Terry is a perfect ‘Mr. Showbiz’ to perform in Vegas, yet, I think he’d be wonderful with children, too. I just love him and think he brings back that good ol’ kind of entertainment that everyone needs a little bit of today. No matter what your age, I’m sure Terry & his ‘Friends’ made you laugh, giggle or maybe even bring a tear or two … whatever, his performance had to make a person feel good and want him to win. And, that he did! Break a leg, Terry, and enjoy every single penny of your mil!! You earned & deserve it. Oh, for heaven’s sake, don’t give up performing just because your a Millionaire now!

I would disagree with your assessment that Terry Fator wasn’t the most talented of the lot. I would argue that aside from their appealing moxie, the Glamazons struggled to carry a tune - let alone blend their voices harmonically. Other more talented vocalists were represented. Talented singers, however, are a dime-a-dozen, whereas Fator’s extraordinary gift had less to do with his ventriliquism, as it did for his uncanny duplication of voices such as Roy Orbison and Tony Bennett. A professional Vegas impressionist would die to have an act that good, and this guy nailed it without even moving his lips.
