‘American Idol’ Miami Audition Recap
As the judges settle into their seats, commenting on Paula’s very short - “very slutty” dress, another night of American Idol audtions is underway. Tonight - Miami.
Oh my, the belchers are up first… it just seems this isn’t going to end well and Shannon McGough, meat handler, proved that instinct to be correct. Singing Janis Joplin’s, “Cry Baby,” Simon thinks she is the Hungarian Janis Joplin - “it sounds like you’re eating when you sing.” My guess is that means - no.
Former boy bander - Robbie Carrico - is going to Holly wood - and he already has a fan club with silly string waiting to cheer him on.
Next up - no, no, no, no, no - no one will ever pay you to sing.
Ghaleb Emachah - “I would like you if I was drunk, sober I don’t think it works, says Simon. Paula needs to think - I think she might be having a melt down tonight (Yeah, I love a good Paula melt-down). The Kissing South American is kissing everyone on their way out.
Corliss Smith and Brittany Wescott, while they claim they are in love with Ryan a little flirting with Simon and Randy didn’t hurt, as they both get their Golden Tickets as Paula is screaming…
Suzanne Toon - The name says it all, welcome to Hollywood.
The next contestant up wants to be the first Asian American Idol winner. Ramiele Malubay, small in stature, this young woman has it going on as she san an Arethea Franklin song, ‘Natural Woman.’ Although Simon wasn’t impressed, Randy and Paula sent Malubay on her way.
Day Two - Miami.
Syesha Mercado takes the stage and belts out another Arethea song. Randy thinks she is one of the best they’ve seen in Florida. Paula says yes as does Simon - she’s through. Paula says,
Natashia Balch and Ilsy Lornea Pinot, the next two contestants, earned their chance in Hollywood.
Now - we’re ready for the wacky performances. (as a side note - I’m seeing a pattern here - I don’t know for sure - but isn’t this about the last week of auditions - please!)
Carroy’s hair was crazy - Simon is tempted to tell Grant Rhea, “girl, come back in a dress.”
Richard Valles - I think this guy might he might be a chimpmonk.
“American Juniors” top 20, Julie Dublela came to the auditions to win a spot on Idol, but will it work? What is it with Janis Joplin tonight - do the producers help them pick their songs. Wow - she was only sixteen. What a fighter - and over “indulged.” This is what happens to former child stars… Britney, you know how it is right?
What the heck was Brandon Black thinking? Singing to Paula, I’ll Make Love to you.” His original composition “I am the next American Idol” caused the judges Randy and Simon to leave the room - that is something new.
Another night of auditions is over… and all I can say is Yeah! Next stop Atlanta.
Is anyone else ready for the real competition to start?
