‘American Idol’ Girls: 10 Things We Didn’t Know About You
‘American Idol’ Guys: 10 Things We Didn’t Know About You (TWDKAY)
The contesants aren’t the only ones to share something…Randy Jackson has a size 13.5 shoe.
Let’s get to the music.
Carly Smithson
Tonight’s song - ‘Crazy on You’ by Heart (A. Wilson/N. Wilson/R. Fisher)
TWDKAY - She works at an Irish bar.
My Take - The show is off to a great start! Very hot performance.
Randy - It was good toward the end. - Sharp pitch problem. It was alright.
Paula - Just go crazy on him - an amazing job.
Simon - Much better performance than last week. I don’t think you’ve connected with the right song yet. You are an incredible singer. You’re the girl they’ve all got to beat.
Syesha Mercado
Tonight’s song - ‘Me And Mrs. Jones’ - Hall & Oates
TWDKAY She has done a lot of commercials in Miami
My Take - she always seems to be acting to me..
Randy - I don’t think this was a great song choice. When you do those soft moments - it goes nowhere for me.
Paula - When you power it’s like piercing through.
Simon - It was a bit indulgent… it was probably a silly song to do.
Brooke White
Tonight’s song - ‘You’re So Vein’ - Carly Simon
TWDKAY- She went to beauty school - she’s a beauty school drop-out
My Take - I liked it - I loved that she played the guitar.
Randy - It was a great song choice for you.
Paula - Perfect song choice for you.
Simon - I absolutely loved it. Perfect song for you.
Ramiele Maluby
Tonight’s song - ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’ - Thelma Houston -Lyrics
TWDKAY - She dances the hula
My Take - I thought her performance was the weakest of the night so far… Although she had a strong finish.
Randy - This was little rough for me.. The song choice is weird for me.
Paula - You are one to beat here. You didn’t get to perform your magic.
Simon - Astonishingly, I agree with Paula.
Kristy Lee Cook
Tonight’s song - ‘You’re No Good’ - Linda Ronstadt
TWDKAY - I’m a Tom Boy - it’s fun to get dirty.
My Take - Much better tonight than last week - what a difference a week makes.
Randy - That is a one-hundred percent improvement.
Paula - You’re back!
Simon - I agree with the guys. My only worry at the moment is that I don’t know how to label you.
Amanda Overmyer
Tonight’s song - ‘Carry on My Wayward Sun’- kansas
TWDKAY - I like to read bios of rock icons.
My Take - That was so karaoke! not a good night for her.
Randy - It wasn’t the right song choice for you.
Paula - You’ve got some moves. You’ve gotta do what feels right. this was
Simon - Everything felt from contrived - nothing felt real. I really, really didn’t get that.
Alaina Whitaker
Tonight’s song - ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’ - Olivia Newton-John
TWDKAY - I don’t like the food on my plate to touch each other.
My Take - Maybe she should have tried out for Grease: you’re the one that I want.
Randy - I don’t think that was the right song for you.
Paula - I think you did a real good job.
Simon - I like you. It was almost as if your grandmother got you ready for this audition. I think you are one of the dark horses of this competition.
Alexandrea Lushington
Tonight’s song - ‘If You Leave Me Now’ - Chicago
TWDKAY - She was a poster child for the fire department.
My Take - I don’t this was a good song for her talents… seemed a little hotel bar.
Randy - It was so safe for you. You should never make safe choices.
Paula - You did let go and you did stretch it. You’re relevant.
Simon - I was a big, big fan in the early competition. You were inconsistent with the song - it was boring.
Kady Malloy
Tonight’s song - ‘Magic Man’ - Heart
TWDKAY - She loves to sing opera in the bathroom.
My Take - What’s up with the sound mixing… all I could hear was the band.
Randy - You just never quite found the pitch.
Paula - When you powered you sounded great.
Simon - I’m struggling as much as you’re struggling.
Asia’h Epperson
Tonight’s song - ‘All By Myself Lyrics’ - Eric Carmen
TWDKAY - She was a cheerleader in high school.
My Take - Very rough beginning… this wasn’t her best - by far.
Randy - You did a nice job with that.
Paula - It was great.
Simon - It is one of the diva songs of all time and you have got to be one heck of singer to pull that off and unfortunately you’re not. You almost got away with it.
Despite the fact that everyone had pretty much recovered it was a rough night for the girls.
The biggest disappointment of the night was Amanda Overmyer, I love her, so it was hard to see her do so badly.
I’m guessing it will be Kady and Ramiele. Thoughts anyone.
