American Idol shocker & no save from the judges!

Let’s start by saying that according to our American Idol online poll, we want Michael Sarver to go home. I would have to agree even though I do like the guy. According to DialIdol.com, who claims a very high percentage of success in predicting who is going home, they say it will be Alexis? If that happened, ooooooh, I would be so upset and it would be too soon in the season for a favorite to leave. The problem is, I really like all of them in their own way. Even Michael Sarver, especially after he told his heartbreaking story about his daughter asking why he didn’t want to be with her anymore. I’ve never been so aware that so many of the Idol contestants are parents before. I know there have been parents but this year; they all talk so much about how they miss their kids. It’s got to be tough.

Time to find out who is in the bottom three. They start with Danny and of course he is officially a part of the Top 10 and will be on tour this summer. I guess I’ll get to see Danny and Lil is safe as well. Anoop is safe! Allison and Michael stand and one of them is in the bottom three….and that’s Allison! Oh no…and Ryan says Michael is also in the bottom three. At least that makes a little more sense to me.

Grand Ole Opry member Brad Paisley performs his new song Then. There are some country artists I like, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Rascal Flatts and a couple more, but I’ve never quite gotten the Brad Paisley thing. Honestly, I think some of the top 11 Idol contestants can sing better. Maybe it’s just a poor song choice. ; )

Ryan starts again…I’m getting nervous. Scott has been asked to pack his bags…for the tour. He’s in. Megan is safe, Matt is safe, Kris stands and Ryan says welcome to the Top 10. Alexis and Adam stand and Alexis is in the bottom three. Ryan decides to go ahead and send Allison back to safety and the Top 10.

This duet should be interesting. I love Carrie Underwood but I’m not a Randy Travis fan (sorry to our blogger Hillary). They sing I Told You So. It’s on Carrie’s latest CD Carnival Ride and written by Randy Travis himself.

Before the commercial Simon tells Ryan that the judges just discussed it and they may be compelled to save one of the two in trouble if they were on the bottom. Nice little teaser. But here we go for sure….after the nationwide vote of over 31,000,000…Michael, you are safe. Simon says that Alexis is the one they were thinking of saving and it all depends on this last performance of Jolene and quite frankly I think it sounds desperate and much worse than last night.

I don’t think they will use their save this soon in the season and I don’t think she did that well. Simon said it was good, but not good enough and the judges were all unanimous on this one. Alexis is going home. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Not that they should save her but that she is there at all. Michael should be leaving.

Am I the only one who was blindsided by this one?????

I am shocked that no one has said anything about Megan Corkey. She should have been gone! She has no talent, but I think that all of the judges think she is too pretty to leave. She always sounds horrible — she can not sing. She sounded better with a cold and still had no talent. I think that the judges discriminate based on look, how they like the person — not talent; of course for the most part, Simon does except when it comes to Megan. I think he’s stuck on her looks - lucky for her. And another thing they always want to segregate the music, i.e., they think black folks can not sing anything but R&B — that sucks. They are real prejudice against black males — they don’t have a chance.

Adam needs to go that self centered freak……I am sure all the other contestants are all like o great we have to go on tour with the freak. Its a bummer that Alexis had to go she would have been a good addition to the tour. Also what was with carries outfit…? Love her hate the outfit. But I am glad Anoop was able to make a come back also. I am excited for next week though a few people need to pick up their game…..scott….megan….allison.

Interesting…I was talking to my cousin (who works for television out in LA), and he told me that a buddy of his is on the Idol staff. His friend would not elaborate, but he did say that there have been times when the bottom 2 or 3 vote getters are seperated by less than 40 votes. When you think about 31 million voting, that’s soooo small. I wonder how far Alexis was below Michael. The show drives me crazy, but you gotta keep it in perspective, I guess.

Good choice sending Alexis home…she was ok, but nothing great. Now hopefully next week Adam will be voted off. What an ego on that freak.

Alexis is way better than Michael. You couldn’t even understand his words when he was singing. Oh well I guess this really is just a popularity contest.

I am really disappointed that Alexis was sent home. I would have rather seen Michael or Scott go home.

Not Only Shocked, but mad that the judges comments from the begining were against her! She did not deserve it and I turned off of idol with her out.

I was definitely a little shocked, but not completely disappointed with the results. Would I have rather seen Michael or Scott go home instead? Sure. Alexis was good, but I didn’t like her this week - especially last night. I don’t think she stood a chance of winning the whole thing, but it probably would have been better to have her on the tour. Kelle - I’m with you on Brad Paisley. I actually kind of liked the song and was thinking that I probably would have liked it better if someone else were singing it……..Kris, maybe?? :)

I was very disappointed. I think Sarver should have gone last week, truth be told. Alexis has much more potential & are they crazy? With their new method of choosing the top contenders this year, they are left with only 3 women on the tour. That will have to limit their song & choreography options.

Just totally blindsided. That’s about all I can say. WOW! Just crazy. She should have at least made the top 10. Sarver Out! He works on an oil rig, do you realize how much money he makes? This show makes me crazy sometimes LOL. Well next week should be fun at least. I love Motown! It will be great to see Matt, Danny, Anoop and Adam perform. They all have great voices for Motown. Until next week…I’m going to keep saying WOW!

I DON’T GET IT! Just goes to show you how you have to always be on your game and one bad week can tank you - but I thought that Lil, Scott & Michael were just as, if not more, sucky - and I definitely see more potential in Alexis. I was looking forward to seeing her on the tour - in fact I would have rather had her stay than even Allison. I do feel that all of them have some talent, but I am really disappointed that she is gone, and I also can’t believe that Allison came in below Scott - talk about sympathy voting. People talk about how odd Megan looks with her dancing, and I hate the weird faces that Micheal makes when he sings - and I think that Scott needs to take a cue from Stevie and Ray and Roy and get himself some cool sunglasses. He has absolutely gorgeous eyes, but when he is singing he has this habit of opening them up really wide so that it looks like he’s being strangled - or that he just saw Bigfoot or something. So that can be really distracting for me - it’s all about being a performer and connecting with your audience rather than alienating them. I’ve been an Anoop fan from the beginning, so I was thrilled that he didn’t have to stand with the bottom 3 this time. I saw him saying to the others, “This is the first time!” Good for him. I think that him and Danny are my top two favorites at the moment. I love the sounds of Motown, so I am really looking forward to next week!

I was shocked too that Alexis was voted off. I felt after that first week on this new set (top 13), she was one of the top 5. I will say she seem to cop an attitude the last two weeks like she was ‘all that and a bag of chips’. I agree that her performance this week was the worst and for that she paid the price. I also agree it was too early to use the save, they would have if it was Danny or Adam.

Too bad for Alexis because she can sing better than Sarver for sure, but it is what it is. He gets the tour, but I doubt he’ll be around for more than the next week or two. Surprised to see Allison in the bottom three this early. Carrie Underwood is so good. Wow… as Randy Travis kept saying, “those are some pipes”.

I hated to see her go, but she was just ok. Michael has a bit of a fan base because of his hard working, family man thing about him. I thought he was leaving. Carrie Underwood sounded wonderful, but that thing on her head looked like a spider! I am excited for next week. It should be a really interesting show.
