‘Results’ disaster averted on American Idol!

According to our Idol Poll, the bottom three should be Meagan, Michael and Scott with Meagan going home. DialIdol.com thinks the bottom three will be Scott, Meagan and Michael with Michael going home AND of our Idol bloggers, Rene, Ben, Shantei, and Kim all are picking the same three in the bottom and I wholeheartedly agree.

So what was with the group number tonight? Where’s the live audience? Are they trying to teach them how to lip sync or what? If so, there’s a lot more work to do I’m afraid. There is a reason they did this and I’m very curious.

Ruben is back singing his new release Together. Ruben looks all healthy and svelte and sweatin’ as much as ever. Oh, I’ve missed Ruben! He points to his wedding ring and says how much he loves her. How sweet!

Here we go with the eliminations…we are starting with Adam and he and his kooky earrings are safe. Matt stands next and Ryan says he is in the bottom three. I didn’t expect that…not one bit!! Kris is safe. Lil and Michael both stand and Michael is in the bottom three. I still can’t believe Matt is in the bottom. That means one of the worst is going to stay.

Wow. Even DialIdol.com didn’t see this one coming because they had Matt coming in at #5 of 9. Only 1 out of 200 votes on our Idol Poll are for Matt leaving. He has fewer votes to go home on our poll than Danny and Adam!!! Something is very, very wrong here.

You know Josh Stone was one of those young people with the soul of a much older and experienced singer/performer. She’s still young but when she started she was a teen if I remember right. And old Smokey still singing all sexy putting the moves on the pretty ladies. You go boy!

Back to the results…Allison stands and she is safe. Anoop stands and he is safe. Danny stands and he is safe. Scott and Meagan stand and Scott is in the bottom three. I love Meagan but there is no way, no way that Matt should be there instead of Meagan. Ryan asks Randy who doesn’t belong there and he says definitely Matt. He’s been rockin’ the mike consistently.

Stevie Wonder visits the Idol stage and sings a medley of awesome Motown hits. Watching the kids dancing and singing at the side of the stage while they watch him perform Superstition is so fun. You can just bet they are just in awe of the folks they got to meet this week. It must be surreal!

Commercial over and after the nationwide, record setting vote at over 36,000,000, Matt is safe and Michael is singing for his life. He doesn’t seem surprised at all tonight that he is at the bottom. I think that secretly he is missing his family. What a class act! Before he sings he says “Oh crap. I have to sing after Stevie.” I think he does much better tonight than last night! In fact, I think Meagan or Scott should go before him given this performance. He was very relaxed. The judges are still talking when he is done singing and there is no commercial break left. Kara keeps saying that he was good tonight and Ryan keeps pressuring them for a decision because its 8:59 and finally Simon makes a decision and says he is going home.

He was leaving sooner or later. I kind of wish it were later. Did anyone here what next week was? I was too busy typing.

Another exciting American Idol week. I am already counting the days until next Tuesday!!

I was thinking the same thing Kelle - why did they have them lip-syncing? And very badly too - strange! I dunno - could be because of Scott. I just really wonder how they will deal with him on the tour. I was thinking the same thing about him and Stevie - that had to be an extra special thrill for him. Stevie was awesome - love him. Anyway- I was a bit surprised to see Matt in the bottom 3, but I think maybe LoveAlexis made the right point about him being forgettable. I have been lukewarm on him all along - but I thought he really stepped it up this week so it was interesting that now is when he ended up on the bottom. But even though I had enjoyed him, I found by the end of the show I couldn’t remember what he sang. He just doesn’t stick. I think Megan is this season’s Kelle Pickler - she is getting votes for being so gorgeous. I hope she will step up and do justice to her slot - I still think she has a ton of potential. I like Michael very much as a person - a class act all the way - but it was time for him to leave. I’m glad his kids will get to visit with him before he goes on tour! :)

I too thought Michael was going home sooner than later, but it should have been Meagan tonight, without a doubt!! I was disappointed in Lil this week too and did anyone else notice when they had her stand and Ryan started to make it sound like she was in the bottom 3, she made a face that made me think of Faith Hill’s look when they annouced that Carrie Underwood was the winner of the CMA awards for female vocalist of the year. Like she was really, really surprised! I’m not a fan of Lil. Love Allison - she is awesome!!!

The right person went home this week, but like everyone else, I was surprised to see Matt in the bottom three and not Megan. However, I still think that she and Scott are riding on borrowed time at this point. Sarver is obviously a really nice, likable guy… but he can’t keep up with the best five… Adam, Kris, Danny, Lil, and Allison.

I admit that I panicked a little bit when Ryan said that Matt was in the bottom 3. I’m still pretty shocked at that. I was not sad one bit that Michael left - and I don’t think he was either…..it was time for him to get home to his kids. I didn’t hear about next weeks theme either, so guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Matt being in the bottom 3 did not surprise me. The guy lacks a noticeable character and I cant remember them ever profiling him to give the viewer some insight as to who he was before coming on this show. Dueling piano players are outgoing and sharp. I have to thing Matt is too but he is not showing that, instead he is showing…dull and that is why people are not voting for him.

I just want to point out that Josh Stone is actually JOSS STONE. And, yes, I was very surprised to see Matt in the bottom. I definitely think it’s time for either Meagan or Scott to leave. I like Meagan, but she seems to be getting worse rather than better.

Shantei, You have an excellent point about Scott struggling on the dance floor. I feel so bad for him when he has to attempt choreography. When Stevie was singing I kept wondering if Scott had any time at all to speak with him. I’ll bet Stevie would have some encouraging words for him! Kelle

Hey Kelle, thanks for the shout out! I was shocked as well about Matt, but I knew that Michael was going home. Did you noticed what Paula said after he sang? When Simon said yes or no to Paula, she said something like don’t ask me first I wasn’t paying attention! What?!? They say that next week theme may be the itunes top 100 songs. Josh Stone was okay, but she is better than that. She never wears shoes! Smokey was good. Stevie was wonderful! I think that they did that group number like that because of Scott with all due respect. Since he is leagally blind, he can’t be moving around on stage like that without someone pulling him, but I don’t know. Just my opinion.
