Dancing with the Stars: Week 1, night 2
Welcome to night 2 of the 3 night ‘DWTS’ premiere event. After last night, we all know the drill: 2 dances per couple. 1 alone and 1 relay in teams of 4.
The female pros kicked it off dancing to “She’s a Lady.”
Without further ado, let’s get started. First up:
Debi Mazar & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
DANCING: Salsa
MY TAKE: Woops, she lost a few feathers but she looks a little like a natural out there. A touch awkward but at least she is having fun. Ooh tricky moves.
WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len: Maks you said it’s all about the hips and unfortunately that was missing. At the moment, a lot of work to do. Bruno: On the good side you can work those bazoons (at least, I think that’s what he said) like no one else. Timing went all over the place. I hope you stay because you’ve got a lot there to show. Carrie Ann: I think you have a lot of guts but you lack a connection from your character to the moves. Nice start out.
SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 6, Len Goodman: 5, Bruno Tonioli: 5. Total=16
Melissa Joan Hart & Mark Ballas
DANCING: Viennese Waltz
MY TAKE: Oh! What a pretty princess! They look super graceful! Wow. Did they even miss a step? I don’t think so.
WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len: The start I couldn’t stand, it was sweet and stickly. I thought your hold was good. I like the movement you created. Your feet were no good. Lots of poor footwork but overall it was OK. Bruno: Melissa are you nervous? (Her answer? “A little bit.”) It was prim, it was proper. It was adequate but it failed to ignite. Your shoulders rise up. There is work to do. Carrie Ann: What you did tonight, which is amazing, is you created a few moments that I will remember. Lacking was your connection to the beat of the music.
SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 6, Len Goodman: 6, Bruno Tonioli: 6. Total=18
Note: The judges are being much harder on the girls so far than they were on the guys last night.
Mya & Dmitry Chaplin
DANCING: Viennese Waltz
MY TAKE: Very elegant, definitely a “vision” (of love) Whoa! She flew to the floor. Very nice. I’m impressed.
WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len: This was not a Viennese Waltz. It was a theatrical hodgepodge! Bruno: (interjecting and shouting over Len) That was magnificent!!! Carrie Ann: Way to set the bar tonight! Mya that was gorgeous! That was beautiful. (Her dancing inspired a catfight amongst the judges tonight. Len’s a little “grumpy.”)
SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 8, Len Goodman: 5, Bruno Tonioli: 8. Total=21
Kathy Ireland & Tony Dovolani
DANCING: Salsa
MY TAKE: She’s struggling with her timing a little especially in the beginning. That’s not the best shimmy I’ve seen.
WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len: I think you’ve got the potential to develop but at the moment that lacked any energy for me. Bruno: I know you can sell almost anything, but you didn’t sell that. Carrie Ann: You have great posture, but I think you need to work on loosening up.
SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 6, Len Goodman: 5, Bruno Tonioli: 5. Total=16
Natalie Coughlin & Alec Mazo
DANCING: Salsa
MY TAKE: Not too bad. A little stiff in spots. Hey! She’s smiling! She can move her hips. That’s for sure.
WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len: I’m a little bewildered. The thing is, the Salsa is sexy and steamy. (so far) These gorgeous girls can’t knock my socks off. Bruno: Natalie! The million dollar mermaid! You freeze mid-performance and then you catch up.Carrie Ann: Athletes have done well historically. I think you’re a diamond in the rough. Sink into the beat a little.
SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 7, Len Goodman: 6, Bruno Tonioli: 6. Total=19
Macy Gray & Jonathan Roberts
DANCING: Viennese Waltz
MY TAKE: After the rehearsal footage I was a little worried. She still modernized it up. Her mouth seems to be open a lot. Hmm. She’s having fun if nothing else.
WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len: There’s a vulnerability about you and a charm, if I was at home I’d be voting for you. Bruno: Endearing. It was like watching a child taking his first steps into a scary new world. Carrie Ann: Wow. Macy, that was fascinating. Your technique, I can’t even go there. But when you perform there’s a natural genuineness to you.
SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 6, Len Goodman: 4, Bruno Tonioli: 5. Total=15
(What did she (Macy) say there? Something about a cherry? Uh oh…)
Joanna Krupa & Derek Hough
DANCING: Salsa
MY TAKE: That’s a lot of fringe. And wow look at it move. Derek brings the sexy out in his partners. She sure knows how to work her hips.
WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len: At last we’ve seen a hot smoking Salsa! Bruno: That was sexy! That was saucy! That’s what a Salsa should be. Carrie Ann: I thought it was hot! You have confidence and it could take you all the way!
SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 8, Len Goodman: 8, Bruno Tonioli: 8. Total=24
Kelly Osbourne & Louis Van Amstel
DANCING: Viennese Waltz
MY TAKE: Look at her be graceful! She cleans up nice. Whoa! Nice lift (uh oh, Carrie Ann’ll get her on that!) and toss there at the end. Hey! It’s Sharon and Ozzy!
WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len: I’ll be brief. Best Viennese Waltz of the night. Bruno: I cannot believe my eyes. The wild child, rock princess transformed into a vision of grace and elegance. Carrie Ann: Mom and dad Osbourne should be very proud. There were chills up and down my spine. But I gotta dock you. You lifted up.
SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 7, Len Goodman: 8, Bruno Tonioli: 8. Total=23
Round 2 — Relays
For the ladies’ second dance, teams of 4 will dance in a relay and be compared side-by-side.
Up first dancing the Foxtrot: Kathy, Natalie, Debi and Joanna
MY PICK: Natalie’s got this one. With Joanna and Debi a close second. Sorry, Kathy. You’ll get it eventually.
JUDGES SCORES:
4th place: Kathy earning 4 pts.
3rd place: Debi earning 6 pts.
2nd place: Natalie earning 8 pts.
1st place: Joanna earning 10 pts.
Next up, dancing the Cha-Cha-Cha: Kelly, Melissa Joan, Macy and Mya
MY PICK: I’m going with Kelly. Melissa Joan and Mya were both great too! Macy’s still got her mouth open…
JUDGES SCORES:
4th place: Macy earning 4 pts.
3rd place: Melissa Joan earning 6 pts.
2nd place: Kelly earning 8 pts.
1st place: Mya earning 10 pts.
And that wraps up the first rounds of competition. I think the best ladies of the night were Kelly, Joanna and Natalie, in that order. I think Macy and Kathy need to be worried.
Tomorrow night 1 male and 1 female are going home. I think it will be Ashley Hamilton for the guys and Macy Gray for the girls.
Wednesday night’s results show will feature the premiere of Miley Cyrus’ new video, Sean Kingston and a tribute to the late Patrick Swayze, who appeared as a guest on the first season of ‘Dancing.’

Good afternoon . I have something to say, about Aloe vera, something about which you wrote above, about health and personal care… For a long time, I and my fine friend use the products of the FLP. We usually see the good results and also we make money for our families and we are happy. My friend works with Aloe Vera in the company of forever living products has more than 5 years (My friend works ONLY in the forever living products company and has a wife and three children). I know aloe Vera products for weight management for a long time, but a year ago, began working as a distributor in the forever living products company. Of course, this job is not easy, but in no other case, You really can earn so much much money with so much much fun and good smiling faces around… So if you want to discuss something about your article, and about my experience with aloevera products for weight loss management, I’ll always be glad to talk. Best regards from Washington and have a nice day! Andrew - Aloe Vera Distributor
