Who’s out on ‘Dancing?’ A model, an actress or an athlete?
It’s Tuesday night and that means it’s time for the week 2 elimination on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
So who’s going home?
Last night’s competition had 5 ties so that means it could be a close one to see who’s out tonight.
Guest judge Baz Luhrmann picked Mya and Dmitry’s jumpin’ Jive for tonight’s repeat performance.
I can’t recall it ever being this close and this full of talent this early in the season before. Remember folks, this is only week 2!
Now for the first group of safe couples in “no particular order…”
Donny Osmond & Kym Johnson
Mya & Dmitry Chaplin
Aaron Carter & Karina Smirnoff
The first guest tonight is Joss Stone with the first single from her new album. And as usual she’s not wearing any shoes. I’m not a big fan of Joss. This song’s kinda dull and truthfully these dancers aren’t that great either. They look pretty amateur for “pros.” Why must the results shows be a full hour again? We could get it all done in 30 minutes if we ditched some of the crappy performers.
Aww. The contestants are all becoming a little family. That’s cool that they do get a great training room that mirrors the ballroom. I’ve often wondered about that.
The next round of safe couples are:
Mark Dacascos & Lacey Schwimmer
Natalie Coughlin & Alec Mazo
And uh oh, Debi Mazar & Maksim Chmerkovskiy are still in jeopardy.
Selena Gomez (she’s on the Disney show ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’) is up singing a song from her debut CD ‘Kiss and Tell,’ which apparently came out today. Karina and Derek assist. At least this performance was more entertaining.
Selena’s dressed a little mature for a young girl on the Disney Channel. Is she trying to pull a Miley Cyrus?
Next ones safe are Joanna Krupa & Derek Hough and Michael Irvin & Anna Demidova.
Half the couples to go.
Chuck Liddell & Anna Trebunskaya are safe. Mickey Rourke’s in the audience and he’s looking pretty happy about Chuck being safe.
Melissa Joan Hart & Mark Ballas will be back next week as will Kelly Osbourne & Louis Van Amstel.
Oh no! Local Louie Vito & Chelsie Hightower are in jeopardy and the crowd’s not happy about it. Neither am I. I don’t think it’s fair that a couple can end up at the bottom when their song stinks and plays a role in messing them up.
Now we learn about the bad habits the stars come into the competition with. There’s talking, posing, and trust issues and it’s up to the pros to break them and turn them all into dancers.
The Macys Stars of Dance performance goes out of the studio tonight for the dancers and the USC Trojan Marching Band. Wow. They marched right on into the studio. They’re pretty good but they’ve got nothing on Script Ohio. Break dancers and a marching band make for an interesting combo. Ooh. It’s like a crazy, stomping, clapping version of the song. Get Down Tonight, indeed.
Joss Stone comes back for her second song of the night singing, ‘Son of a Preacher Man.’ Here’s hoping she does this better than she did her last number. Well, it was better, but I still wish she’d stop screaming. That’s not really singing.
After a quick chat with some of the saved couples we learn that Tom DeLay & Cheryl Burke are safe.
Kathy Ireland & Tony Dovolani are still at risk.
With 3 couples hanging in the balance, we’ll find out one more who’s safe and then the final result.
Whew. Louie and Chelsie are safe. Our Bellefontaine native will dance for another week.
And leaving tonight, during the second week of competition:
Kathy and Tony.
That wraps up week 2.
