It’s the last dance (almost) for an Osmond, an Osbourne and Mya

Here we are, the Dancing With the Stars season 9 final night of dancing.

After a quick look back at their most memorable dances Kelly & Louis dance the Argentine Tango.

MY TAKE: Very nice. Wow that was pretty awesome.

WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len said it epitomized what this competition is about. Carrie Ann says it was sophisticated.

SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 9, Len Goodman: 9, Bruno Tonioli: 8. Total=26

Next up, Mya & Dmitry dance the Paso Doble.

MY TAKE: It was good but seemed more like a Janet Jackson dance number than a standard Paso. Her head was bobbing all over the place.

WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Carrie Ann dubs her the “Queen of the Paso Doble.” Len compared it to Mel B. and Maks’ Paso from a few seasons back. (I didn’t think it was even close to that dance.)

10, 10, 10 SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 10, Len Goodman: 10, Bruno Tonioli: 10. Total=30

Well, I might as well quit watching now. If the judges have their way, Mya will win.

And finishing up the first round of dances tonight, Donny & Kym dance the Cha Cha Cha.

MY TAKE: It was alright. He definitely looks like he’s having fun but it wasn’t amazing. Not sure how I feel about those hips shaking all over.

WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len thought overall it was very nice. Bruno says Donny’s a star and a professional as far as his attitude.

SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 9, Len Goodman: 9, Bruno Tonioli: 9. Total=27

Now for round 2, the MegaMix Challenge. All 3 couples will dance the same 3 dances in formation to the same choreography at the same time. They will then be ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd and then earn points accordingly.

MY RANKINGS:

3) Kelly & Louis
2) Mya & Dmitry
1) Donny & Kym

JUDGES’ RANKINGS:

3) Kelly & Louis earning 26 points
2) Donny & Kym earning 28 points
1) Mya & Dmitry earning 30 points

I cannot believe how blatantly the judges are favoring Mya. This is ridiculous. Donny should’ve claimed the top spot after they told him he kept up with the pros in that round.

And finally it’s time for the Freestyle Round. This round can make or break who wins and who goes home. Kelly & Louis are up first dancing to Kelly’s song choice of “I Will Survive.”

MY TAKE: That was pretty good. She’s definitely come a long, long way. A few stumbles here and there, but still she had a blast and you could tell.

WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: They liked it overall.

SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 8, Len Goodman: 8, Bruno Tonioli: 8. Total=24

Next up are Mya & Dmitry dancing to “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from “Hairspray.”

MY TAKE: They definitely had some good moments. That flip was pretty good, but they’re no Tracy and Link.

WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Carrie Ann didn’t think it was outstanding. Len agrees. Bruno thought she was on the beat and vibrant. But they were all expecting more from them.

Hmm maybe she doesn’t have this sewn up as nicely as she thinks…

SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 9, Len Goodman: 9, Bruno Tonioli: 9. Total=27

And finally Donny & Kym donning robes to start dance their freestyle.

MY TAKE: That was pretty spectacular. Loved the lifts and the fun but it had a lot of content too! I think theirs was my favorite freestyle and maybe my favorite dance of the whole night.

WHAT THE JUDGES SAID: Len says it was a showstopper and as usual Bruno is on his feet and loudly declaring Donny is a master.

SCORE: Carrie Ann Inaba: 10, Len Goodman: 10, Bruno Tonioli: 10. Total=30

Final scores of the night leave Mya in 1st place with 87 points, Donny in 2nd with 85 and Kelly in last place with 76.

My predictions?

I think Kelly & Louis will be eliminated first (love her but she had a rough time tonight). And then I think if fans have their way, Donny Osmond will win, If the judges have their way, Mya will take home the trophy.

Who do you think will win? Who do you want to win?

IMHO, Kelly SHOULD NOT BE in the Final 3. They sent home the couple who I thought and from the amazment of the crowd last week, Derek and Joanna. Kelly is doing the Safe Dances. Nothing to flashy, just enough that it would not over power her. No flips, no nothing. Just safe dances. Step step turn step step turn Hand out turn step step step, turn bend turn step. The Judges can say OH that was just wonderful, but the other 3- last week dancers, were doing those moves in week 3 while Kelly is just now doing them well. HELLO..I liked Derek and Joanna way better then Kelly. WHo will win, Close with Donny and Mya. IF the phone votes are right, Kelly will be gone first. Really She can’t dance the way the other 3 -last week- could from day one. Donny and Kym with Mya 2nd.

I agree with your assessment. Much like the judges I was expecting much more from Mya’s freestyle. I think that was more Dmitry’s fault than her own. They could have locked it up with that one, but now are neck & neck with Donny.
