we should have been so lucky! ‘the english patient’ was actually a great flick. the whole oscar shindig was flat — even ellen. pretty boring stuff. on a fashion note, helen mirren did us older chicks proud. she is a class act and ‘the queen’ an excellent movie — albeit a tour de force for her. who dressed jennifer hudson? the seven dwarfs? the disneyesque capelet was happily dropped — i hope in the trash can. she is a great looking woman —see the cover of the latest vogue. didn’t need aspirin—just the remote.By susan

the ‘dropkick murphys’ didn’t get a nod for ‘Shipping up to boston’ from ‘the departed’ … total rip-off. ‘shipping up to find my wooden leg …’ sigh
