So little time, so many books….

Cool piece from the journal Foreign Policy on “100 Books That Will Make you Smarter.” Since it’s FP, it’s heavily weighted toward history, politics and sociology … nothing wrong with that.

I’m pleased to say I’ve read most of the fiction, what little there is … mostly, though, I’m reminded how far behind I am on good non-fiction. Alas, I don’t see myself ever catching up, either…

Have a look at the list and see what you think. Any faves you’d like to add?

The Internet just got a bit more interesting…

Dunno if you had a chance to catch the news yesterday about Google catching up with Bing to bring real-time searches to its services, but here’s the story from Wired, which pretty much spells out how this will change things.

If you follow to the sample Google page to see how this will look, you may think as I did that it does seem a bit more clutttered and complicated, until you get used to it…

But it’ll be interesting to see how, and where, things go from here… Will this somehow elevate the “content” created by short status updates on Facebook to the presumably more substantive stuff that existed at news sites and information centers such as Wikipedia? Wait and see, I guess…
