It has been a heady year for Centerville’s Erin Chase.

The mom of two started her own successful blog (5dollardinners.com) in September, won a free year’s worth of groceries from Walmart on New Year’s Eve and, on Tuesday, April 21, she will be featured on The Rachael Ray Show.

“It’s been crazy,” said Chase, who filmed the episode April 8 in New York.

Chase is being featured for the many tips she offers to families who are trying to feed their families healthy meals on a strict budget. She said she had a great time with Ray. “She was fabulous.”

The show airs in the Dayton area at noon on Ch. 22.

Good for her, but Rachael Ray is a joke.

Oh Kirkwood, just be happy for her success nationally. Why do people post here have to be so negative channeling Anthony Bourdaine.

Ms. Chase is capitalizing on white trash trade secrets. I say we start a petition at the trailer park and file a class action law suit - she shouldn’t be compensated for the years of pain and suffering of others.

Sad Face, what does Erin’s being frugal and helping others have to do with the pain and suffering of others. My guess is you are just a bit jeaolous.

Congrats Erin! :) Sad Truth - White trash trade secrets? I’m not even sure what you are referring too. I love Erin’s recipes. Pain and suffering of others? Erin HELPS people save money and cook healthy meals. Not sure why that is OFFENSIVE to anyone!

Dear “Sad Truth”, Are you saying white trash are people who want to save money? Or are you saying the people who live in a trailer park are white trash? Who suffered for Ms. Chase success? Sad truth is you are the white trash and if we could sue stupid there would be a petition against you!

I had to laugh when reading how the comments of this article turned - a simple article about a local on a national tv show - then someone has to mention white trash/trailer parks/law suit - what makes these type of people crawl out from under the rocks and spit on the success of another?

Erin is “just a mom” like so many of us, who strived to cook frugal and healthy dinners for her own family. She never imagined that sharing that goal on her blog would be so successful — congratulations, Erin!
