Vote: What is your favorite child-care option?

In today’s Here’s the Deal column, I took a look at what questions to ask when you are looking for a good child-care center, especially for the upcoming summer months.

But the best people to talk to about a particular child-care center or caregiver are the families who have experienced them firsthand.

So, we put together this poll of child-care options in the Dayton area for parents to let other parents know which centers they liked best, and why they liked — or didn’t like — a particular facility or option.

Please note that this is just a sampling of facilities. If you want to vote for a facility omitted from the poll, choose “Other” and write in that facility in the comments section below.

The results of the poll will be in next week’s Here’s the Deal column and blog.

The Bombeck Family Learning Center gets my vote, also. I’d never use any other “daycare” facility. I’d love to be able to stay home, but that’s not an option for my family. I envy those moms who can.

I think we as a society have failed our children when we as a society have misplaced our values and feel we need things more than we need to care for our children. The American dream is where two people come together, buy a home, and run their own businesses and can spend time with their children. When we buy imported goods to save a buck rather than support our locally owned business we are buying into the programming of big business and our families are the victims. I suggest, you control your desires and set goals for your families to include your children in your lives. Open a vegetible stand and have the kids help. Tech them the values your parents failed to teach you. The values that made the American dream a reality and that are quickly becomming a memory in the USA. Put down the Video game controler and do something with your kids for the family. Family business is good business and makes for a better country too!

Frank—how do you propose one BUYS A HOUSE on the income from a vegetable stand? I don’t know where you live, but I don’t know of a decent house in a decent neighborhood that costs what a vegetable stand could pay. Values have nothing to do with earning a living and keeping a family clothed and fed. You seriously need to get a grip and a reality check!
