Last week, U.S. News and World Report put together a fun list of the worst ideas that made tons of money, noting that it is sometimes better to be lucky than smart.

Among the awfully lucrative ideas:

Selling real estate on the moon.

Pet rocks.

Tumbleweed farms.

Fake wishbones.

Garbage Pail Kids is also on the list. They may have been gross, but I loved ‘em! I had the entire set.

Is this all it takes to become a writer for the DDN? Take someone else’s article, summarize it in six sentences and throw it on the web? Way to get the scoop Jill. Where do I send in my resume to the DDN?.

Blogging is not the same medium as reporting. Many items’ sole intent is to get you back to the original item; hence the link. This is done so you don’t have to scour the Web for other interesting, topical articles.
