Get two candles, worth $12, for $1
One of Miamisburg’s self-made deal spotters, Karen Baird, reported an awesome deal she found that is available through Saturday, Oct. 10.
She got two 4.9-ounce Fragrance Collection by Glade Soy Candles from Walgreens, which retail for $5.99 each, for 49 cents each (plus tax).
Here’s how she did it:
She downloaded two Glade coupons, worth $3.50 each, from the Glade Right at Home Web site. (There is a limit of two coupons per computer.)
“You have to fill out a form with your name and address to get to the coupon, but you hit the BACK button and get two coupons per computer,” she said.
Then, she stopped by Walgreens, where the candles (they say they are 4.5 ounces on the Walgreens site, but they are 4.9 ounces) were on sale for $3.99 each. That sale runs through Saturday.
“But, even without the sale, buying two candles with the coupons is like ‘buy one get one free,’” she said, “because the coupons are worth $7 ($3.50 each) and the 4.9-ounce candle retails for $5.99.”
And, if you want to get nutty, Baird said the candles also can be used to get an SC Jonson rebate, which gives you $5 back if you buy three items on their list. So, in this scenario, you would just need to buy one more item on the list to qualify.
In the fine print, SC Johnson notes that you can get three of those rebates per household. So, if you play your deals right, you might even be able to make money.
