Walmart to rollout new service this month
Walmart is expanding a program that will allow shoppers to get items faster.
The Bentonville, Ark. based chain store will roll out its “Pick Up Today” service later this month.
It allows customers to purchase items online and receive free same-day pickup at a local Walmart store.
By June, Pick Up Today will be offered at nearly 3,600 Walmart stores nationwide.
It will include as many as 40,000 items in categories like baby, toys, home décor, hardware, outdoor living, electronics, household appliances and video games.

That sounds like a good idea, considering that Best Buy already does that with a lot of their items…. But I wonder who will be the first to abuse this and try to buy $200 worth of groceries and then get peeved that they can’t get them already picked up and waiting for them?

Something to make the Americans more LAZY. What is wrong with this picture? Can’t they spend the money on something useful?

My relatives have this service available to them from a different grocery chain near Nashville but the chain charges for the service. It can save you money if you have a tendency to pick up things that aren’t on the list. It stops impulse buying! They love it because they have 2 small kids which can make grocery shopping a real task. I wish my mom would have had this service. Getting in and out of a wheelchair only added more pain for her. I was wondering how long it would be before we had this service!

I didn’t see anything in the article that stated groceries could be purchased online and then picked up instore. Although that would be a great service for those who are disabled it is a great service for those of us who do purchase items online and wait for instore pickup..

Walmart is continually thrashing around like a drowning man. The head honchos need to get back to Sam’s buisness principles. Customer service wins you loyalty along with a competitive prices

Before Walmart existed there were neighborhood grocery stors which delivered your phoned-in order. A few are still around. There IS life without Walmart.

A business will make calculated decisions to improve their services and bottom line. Whereas, our governments do nothing to improve their services and have no bottom line - thus our dilemma.

It said nothing about “groceries” in the article at all. last time I checked, walmart already had the ship to store option on their website. How is this new? It’s called Site to store
