Area salons offer haircuts as part of World Record attempt, fundraiser for fallen deputy

You can get a $5.99 and help a family, but you may have to drive a little.

Two Great Clips locations in Springfield are trying to break Guinness Book of World Records Saturday while raising money for the family of Clark County Sheriff’s deputy Suzanne Waughtel Hopper.

Hopper was killed during a shootout at Enon Beach Recreation Park on New Year’s Day.

Great Clips at Eastside Square, 150 S. Tuttle Rd, will attempt to break the record for most consecutive haircuts by a team in 12 hours.

Great Clips at North Bechtle Square, 776 N. Bechtle Ave, will attempt to break the record for most haircuts by a team in a week beginning Saturday.

Both Great Clips locations will offer $5.99 haircuts Saturday though Friday, May 20.

Proceeds from Saturday’s haircutting marathon will go to The Deputy Suzanne Waughtel Hopper Memorial Fund. Great Clips hopes to raise $5,000.

Local sheriff’s deputies will receive a free hair cut on May 14.

They need to investigate her husband. He has bought a BMW, SS Truck, Pontiac Firebird (show car) and his mother is driving a new van. I guess none of the insurance money went to the kids. Why isn’t he helping out a little? It seems like he is flaunting it. I am sure Suzanne would not be happy about this.

Who are you Tammy….to decide what a grieving husband who just lost his wife through a tramatic incident to decide what he should do with any money that he receives….How dare you speak on behalf of a woman who was killed in the line of duty. You will never know how someone who has given their all to protect the public and has been slaughtered would feel….Maybe she she would be comforted seeing them get something out of the tragedy that fell upon her. I would watch my words if I were you…being that critical and judgemental can never be a good thing!

THEM getting something. It is not THEM. The son is living with his father and the daughter is with her grandparents. Why does one person need 3 vehicles they can’t drive, plus a jeep and a Harley? I love Suzanne and I know she wouldn’t be happy about this. God rest her soul.

Little Timmy, My point that you missed, is no one should judge how a man grieves. If you are worried about how the money is spent, then put it in a trust. The kids are being taken care of. Everyone needs to give the family their space.

I think it’s wonderful what Great Clips is doing in her honor.

Also, there’s no need to be condescending on here nor attack people for their beliefs.
