I recently discovered www.ecofreek.com, a search engine that locates free and swap items from more than 45 websites, including Craigslist, Pennysaver and public Freecycle sites.
With ecofreek, users can handily find a free sofa, kitchen table, books or kitten in their area or swap material or services with someone.
Users can search by a keyword, city or region, allowing results to easily be narrowed down.
Ecofreek’s mission, according to founder Nicole Boivin, is to encourage people to reuse preowned items, as well as give away items they no longer want, in order to reduce landfill waste.
If you find an item you like, then simply click the listing to be taken to the original posting to contact the owner.
