No kidding
John McCain might as well quit now, because one of the most reliable indicators in presidential election history says Barack Obama will win, big time. In a national straw poll taken every four years by Scholastic magazine, 250,000 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade picked Obama (57%) over McCain (39%). Obama won the crucial Ohio vote 51% to 47%. Who cares what children who are too young to vote think? Well, the poll has been wrong only twice since 1940. The kids missed on Dewey vs. Truman, although so did a lot of headline writers. They also were wrong on Nixon vs. JFK, but that poll was taken before RMN showed up for the debate with all those whiskers. — D.L. Stewart, Staff Writer
