Craigslist to drop its online red-light district

Now for a little news sure to change the ‘business’ practices of ‘massage specialists’ and ‘escorts.’

Craigslist is dropping its online red-light district, the “erotic services” ads.

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says Craigslist will create a new adult category that Craigslist employees will review, the Associated Press reported Wednesday, May 13.

See article here.

Existing erotic ads will expire in seven days.

Many a prostitute and john - including some locally - have used the ads to foster business relationships, law enforcement has said.

(Wink!)

Madigan and the attorneys general for Connecticut and Missouri met with Craigslist officials last week seeking an end to ads they contend are advertisements for illegal sexual activities, the AP reported.

But they are leaving in the sections of Man seeking man, woman seeking woman, etc. it is a different section, but I can only imagine they are wanting money for their services too! Sick, just plain sick!

I wonder if they would change their mind if this was a service taxable by the government?

Everyone should be reminded that ALL species are biologically programmed, from birth to eat, sleep, breathe, eliminate waste, and to reproduce. In many species, this reproduction programming translates to “sexual reproduction,” or in lay terms, “having sex.” Perhaps Craig’s List is only helping some human specie animals in carrying out their genetic programming.

Swig, great response but these old fools don’t believe in science nor Maslow’s law of hierarchy

Congratulations ‘Just me’ you’ve just one the award for ‘Ridiculous time to bring up your homophobia’. While, I think any kind of personal ads are ridiculous because how easy it is for people to lie about who they are, and the supreme unlikelihood that anyone will find ‘the one’ through such means. I think they should do away with not just ‘Man seeking man’ and ‘woman seeking woman’, but all those stupid categories in between. But perhaps I’m too jaded and have been around people who have found some major losers online. What’s sick ‘Just me’ is that there will always be people like you well after gay marriage is legal in all 50 states. And for that you should see a doctor, and by doctor, I mean psychologist.

We’re talking about the world’s oldest profession. I’m sure that it’s been advertised every way imaginable. It’s not like the Puritan Police are ever going to stop it. Why try? Legalize it and tax it. It’s a victimless crime anyway.

Hey Daniel, I’ve got a great idea. Why don’t we conduct an experiment. Give the gay and lesbian their own communities where only their gender can live. Each would have to build up their communities without the help of the other gender. Then in twenty years we come back and see how they did. Should be well established by then and prospering. Then revisit in another 30 years and what would you find….not much as both communities would have died off and very little left to keep it going. Get the drift!

Glad Craigslist took off these ads, now the police will have to resort to arrests the old fashioned way….get out of the office and stop heckling people. The only reason the cops go after these people are 1) they don’t carry guns, 2) easy way to build up your arrest records without the fear of getting hurt (drug dealers, bank robbers, home invaders etc, carry guns) and could be a threat.

Ahhh…. How sweet, Jer. Interestingly, these communities you mentioned may die off without the assistance of the opposite gender - but luckily, heterosexuals will continue to producing homosexuals - it’s how most of us got here in the first place.
