Ohio teen drops F-bomb in high school yearbook cover design

Students at an Ohio high school finished the year with an “F” as in F$@%.

A Shaker Heights High School senior carefully concealed the F-bomb in the artwork he designed for the 2009 yearbook cover, The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Shocked and horrified school administrators snatched up copies of the yearbook not already distributed and did their best to block out the artist’s farewell message.

Some students apparently preferred the F-word cover and plan to cherish it.

“Thirty years down the road it’s kind of funny to flip it upside down and say ‘oh, look what’s hidden’,”a girl told Fox 8.

Pranks and high school seem to go hand in hand.

Remember the flip-flop prank that saw several area kids suspended from high school.

What do you think?

Oh puleeze! My senior yearbook had an actual photograph of a couple of guys (taken from the rear) using the urinal. The only real indiscretion in this was in letting the cat out of the bag prior to the complete distribution of the yearbooks and letting it cool down for a year or so. Of course, there goes the public notoriety, but also the upheaval and scrutiny this will impose on the future yearbook staffs. Kids these days. They just can’t keep their inside jokes inside long enough.

Why is it that every time students do something disrespectful people comment on here that it’s no big deal and the school’s administrators should lay off? If you want your kid to grow up being respectful, teach him/her to be respectful and follow through with consequences if they are not. If my kid disrespected the entire high school by doing such a thing, I’d be embarrassed. At least he’s apologized. People can’t understand why many of today’s youth are apathetic and maintain a poor work ethic. They’re only learning what we teach them.

Could someone please point this out for me. I have looked and looked at the picture and I don’t see anything other than legs in the air.

I agree with Christy. What seems like a clever trick on the world to an 18yr old could well be embarrassing years later. Parents shouldn’t be so quick to back their children’s pranks. They’re children; the parents are supposed to be adults.

Oh, wait, wasn’t that an image of the virgin Mary crying on the cover? Give me a break you fools!

They were not drinking, desryoing public property or committing any felonies. Why are teens not allowed to have some fun? Maybe they are suppose to be well behaved and making babies like Sara Palins daughter.

I may be projecting, but I sensed pretty funny sarcasm in his “apology” to the student body.

BFD. Who cares? It is a prank and he will probably be on TV soon. Can’t wait to hear from him. Besides, it is the year book for the kids not the adults. Let them have some fun. Back in the 60s we had all kinds of psychedelic designs and the stupid teachers did not have a clue what inspired it. Not till we were all long gone.

Hi quality senior prank. The school should not be erasing it and let it be! If only someone had pulled that off 15 yrs ago when I graduated HS.

Very subversive character. Must be delinquent for sure. Only future will be in finance, law or politics. Sad, sad, sad. It is a sign of what is wrong with America.

And maybe we shouldn’t do anything to them when they use the same language to speak to the teacher. They’re, “Just having fun.” I’m sure you’d let that fly in your face if you were the teacher or principal. We’re expected to these days. There’s a time and a place for everything. If you want to let your kid cuss you out and be a disrespectful jerk at home so be it. Don’t send him/her to school and show what you are.
