Mario Lopez coming to town for pre- Fourth of July dance contest
He’s known best these days as the dimple-faced host of TV’s “Extra” and “Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew,” but back in the day Mario Lopez ruled the halls of Bayside High as Zack Morris’ curly-haired best frenemy.
By Friday, July 3, he’ll rule HammerJax, 111 E. Fourth St., Dayton.
Watch Mario Lopez promo his upcoming appearance.
That’s right Miami Valley, Mario “I use to play A.C. Slater on Saved By the Bell” Lopez is heading to town.
The muy delicioso dancing jock who once rocked a mean mullet will make his way to the club by 9:30 p.m. to host IndepenDance, which includes a dance competition.
Admission is $10 for those ages 18 to 20 and $7 for those age 21 and up.
If we are lucky, Lopez, the runner-up on the third edition of the reality show hit “Dancing with the Stars,” will show up in stone washed blue jeans, a headband and a sleeveless tank.
More info: Call (937) 641-1114 or visit www.myspace.com/hammerjax.
Indeed, it’s alright cause I am saved by the bell.

Not once in your article did you mention the company and only reason Dayton is able to have celebrities like Mario Lopez and Drama (mtv star that was in town last week!!!) KATE WORLDWIDE, Tony DeSaro, owner have been bringing in major talent to the miami valey and continuously are getting over looked by such news teams and reporters. HOW ABOUT A LITTLE CREDIT!!!!!!!!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH AND FIND OUT THE REAL REASON CELEBS COME TO TOWN>>> it surely isnt bc dayton is the hopping place to stop on the way to the next major city!!!! Sorry but give credit where credit is due!!! Mario could have easily have been taken to Columbus or left in cinci and KATE WORLDWIDE wanted Dayton, to have him come here. PLEASE try to get all the information when posting your articles, its not like the company is hiding from you, we’d love to work with you to get you the information so your articles are more correct when presenting the information. Frustrated and overlooked, your dayton city night life promoters….. :(By Dave

Don’t worry, we’ll try not to blame Kate Worldwide for bringing in a “major talent” 4th tier celeb like Mario Lopez to our “hopping place”.By David Mills

No disrespect to Mario Lopez or DRAMA but please, its HammerJax. It’s not the greatest place to go to. Plus, I think the person that wants more coverage for Kate Worldwide should learn how to write a decent paragraph. Stop using so many exclamation points. It’s overkill. Also, I like how you have to tell us who “Drama” is and what channel he is on. Keep bringing us those “A-List” celebs.By lane

Good lord Kathryn Day. What kind of business person? The Kate Worldwide logo is front and center on my screen. You should be happy someone has written about your horrible event. What has Mario Lopez really done? Dayton is a great community. If you hate it so much stop bring your crappy shows here. Stay in CincyBy not perfect, just right!

Dang! what does Kate Worldwide, er, excuse me, KATE WORLDWIDE have against Mr. Lopez? Are you providing him a kevlar suit to wear while he’s a Hammerjax? That place should have been closed a long time ago! From all that I’ve heard he is a very nice man who is more than gracious with his fans. Don’t give him a bad impression of our fair city by dropping him off at that crime-infested-bullet-ridden place! PS: Kate, perhaps you should hire a PR person to write your copy-you are horrible!By whoisDRAMA

Who is DRAMA? Sounds like someone that would fit in perfect with Dayton! haha! And “major talent?”, isnt he the brother or friend on some reality show? So basically feeding off the benefits of someone else’s success? At least Drydek did something and actually gave back to the community. Lopez will come here and def never come back. It amuzes me the C-listers, D-listers that come here…..By kncjr

Good grief Kathryn Day, are you a business person within the city of Dayton? Your grammer and spelling are like something my 3rd grader would write, and yet you have the nerve to complain about someone else???? That’s some publicity you just gave yourself.By Boycott KATEWORLDWIDE

My name is Tony DeSaro. I am the owner of KATE Worldwide. What the person said to start this has nothing to do with my company. My company has been bringing quality events to the club scene in Dayton and surrounding areas. Since 2005 My company has brought a variety of talent with names such as.. Christina Millian, Shwayze, Paul Oakenfold, Darude, Dirty Vegas, Rob Dyrdek, Drama, Efren Ramierz(Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite) Donnie Whalberg, Metro Station, Playmates for Breast Cancer etc..Wether they are “A list” or “D” really doesn’t matter. My company, KATE Worldwide, is trying to do things for the nightlife here. We do pick the best venue for each special event we throw. If it’s not what you are into fine. No need to knock someone for doing something positive for the people that are interested in these things. Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful 4th of July weekend. See you at Hammerjax July 3rd to kick the weekend off with Mario Lopez
