Crocs may soon be dead in the water
Score one for Croc haters.
The manufacturer behind the controversial, er, shoe is heading for the snapping jowls of death, according to published reports.
Who says the recession is all bad?
“The company’s toast,” Damon Vickers, investment fund manager, told the Washington Post “They’re zombie-ish. They’re dead and they don’t know it.”
It seems the Colorado-based company has too many reptiles in the water.
The company is stuck with a super surplus of horrible vented clogs and more debt than it can shake a government bailout at.
Last year it lost more than $185 million and cut roughly 2,000 jobs, the Post said.
But don’t celebrate yet, Croc haters. The company’s new chief executive officer has reason to hope, he tells Britian’s Telegraph in an article that predicts the company will soon file bankruptcy.
He tells the paper that Crocs can find new life with medical workers and caterer-types.
“There are more than 100 million consumers in 125 countries that love our product. It’s an icon and whether people love it or hate it, they talk about it,” he said.
What do you think? Will you mourn for Crocs?

When my 21yr old daughter was growing up she wore Salt Water Sandals. They were great. You could never wearout a pair out. Your kids could wear them anywhere; church, school, the beach, it didn’t matter. I have a Granddaughter now and she wears Crocs. Just a new era and a different shoe. They are easy for her to get on and off and they can go anywhere. I would be disappointed to see them dissappear.By mike

I used to wear them during work in a Medical Lab until the Safety folks outlawed them for having open holes and no heel.
