Sarah Palin wants Rahm Emanuel canned for calling the ‘r-word’
One things for certain, Sarah Palin is no fan of one notoriously foul-mouthed chief of staff.
And the Fox News contributor wants to do more than clean Rahm Emanuel’s mouth out with soap.
Palin took to Facebook to voice her complaints against “Mr. Potty Mouth” for comments the Wall Street Journal reports he said about a liberal group with complaints about President Obama’s health-care overhaul.
“F—ing retarded,” Mr. Emanuel reportedly said in reference to the group.
In a Facebook post, Palin compares the the phrase to calling blacks ‘the N-word.’
“Just as we’d be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the “N-word” or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities - and the people who love them - is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking,” she wrote.
Palin compelled the president to remove Emanuel and “not allow Rahm’s continued indecent tactics to cloud efforts.”
“Yes, Rahm is known for his caustic, crude references about those with whom he disagrees, but his recent tirade against participants in a strategy session was such a strong slap in many American faces that our president is doing himself a disservice by seeming to condone Rahm’s recent sick and offensive tactic,” she wrote in a letter seemingly directed at the president.
Truth be told, she probably wants him fired for breathing too.
What do you think? Should Rahm get the ram? Is the r-word nearly as bad as the n-word?

Palin needs to keep her mouth shut, tend to her family in Alaska, continue to write books that no one reads (and ends up in the bargain bin at Odd Lots) and just fade away. She and her family are a comical soap opera that is of little interest anymore. Why give her anymore press? Let’s move on.

On any story that has Obama’s name in it that is running right now, the DDN won’t allow remarks. Why is this DDN? Is it because you don’t want to see people bash a Democrat, or just the President? If you are going to do for one, you should always do for the other. DDN writes a one sided non biased opinion of a story.

The man was calling an ACTION “retarded”, not a person. The dictionary defines the word as meaning “to delay” or “hold back”. Palin is the one using is to refer to people, sounds like she is the one with the problem.

Sorry… PC has gone too far. It would be one thing if he was referring to somebody with some sort of disability with this term. Yes, it was rude and he needs to learn to speak like an adult in public, but it doesn’t rise to the level of the response. IMO it’s just another chance for her to get press.

OK, so the article starts off with a two paragraphs of non factual information. The there is a paragraph with some facts. Then the majority of the article is quotes from one side or another. Then the author writes a “retarded” sentence about Palin wanting him fired for breathing. I am not a Palin fan, but is this the best that a writer for the DDN can do? I wouldn’t pay her 2 dollars for such a horrible display of writing skills. She has been failed by whatever educational institutions she has attended. If I were Palin, I would call for her resignation because she writes like a 12 year old. I could write articles that has a lot of quotes then says some ridiculous phrase that has no intelligent meaning. The DDN should be ashamed of themselves for hiring this writer. I am going to bet this lady does not ever win any awards based on her superior writing skills. And to wrap up this comment, let me quote the immortal words of the principle from Billy Madison Ms. Robinson,” what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I can relate to what Mrs. Palin is trying to say. I have a “special needs” child and although he is not retarded, some may argue that point only because he doesn’t understand the simple things unless you explain it to him a couple of times. The politically correct word nowadays is “mentally challenged”. The phrase could cover alot. You will have to be in our shoes to understand what she is talking about. I too am sensitive to the word “retarded”. It does sound derogatory although it may not be to some. This is not about Mrs. Palin this time. She is beginning to understand the concept of having a special needs child. So please lighten up and show some understanding.

Everyone is a victim, everyone is offended…well, too bad. Retarded means exactly that. If Palin is offended, she might look to her family for support…like her daughter: P-word promiscuous. Political correctness is one of the biggest plagues of our time. N-word? B-word? It’s childish to intimate a word among educated adults, as if not saying the full word somehow lessens the offense. That is just RETARDED. A columnin the DDN lambasted Harry Reid for saying ‘negro’, but in another article MLK was quoted using the same word. Grow up.

Kristi you can not assume what he was referring to as “retarded”, whether it be the issue, the group’s actions, the entire incident, or the person standing next to them, because HE did not give a reference to his statement, whoever wrote the article is the one who is referring his comment to the group. If one person posted “f-ing retarded” as their post on this article, you wouldn’t know if they meant the article, the writer or your comments.

Retarded means slow or limited in intellectual or emotional development or academic progress. It is only offensive in nature when referring to people who actually are mentally retarded or people who just want to remain popular at any cost, knowing that sympathizers tend to reject logic. As in Ohio, the word has proven not to be bad, but the reference to a specific group was. That is why MRDD officially changed its name to DD, dropping the preceding “mentally retarded.” Retarded falls into the same category as stupid, moron, idiot, etc.

If you called a political group a “bunch of morons” and then I went public and said “you need to apologize to all the black people for using the word moron (implying that all blacks are morons)” you would be left scratching your head. However, Sarah Palin is the only one guilty of calling the mentally handicapped children “retarded” by making the connection. Are you left scratching your head on that one too, or did politics cloud your judgment just long enough to let the spin factor pull one over on you?

So my comment was censored, what new DDN? Because I wrote THE TRUTH about something? The denotative (dictionary) meaning of the N-word is an ignorant person. It is used as a derrogitory term, unless its used within a friendly setting. The same as “retard/ed.” The dictionary says it as delayed, slow, etc, etc. But whenever (most of the time) it is used out of context (such as this “respected” (haha, yeah right) man has used it. He was using the term to downgrade the people who oppose Obama’s healthcare bill. & So what if Cheney dropped the F-bomb? He wasn’t calling a group of people who disagreed with him MENTALLY HANDICAPPED, no was he? No… A lot more people than Sarah Palin are probably offended by this, but as I said, she had the gonads to say something about it. If she wants to refer to HER CHILD as “retarded” then she can, she is the child’s mother. But as an outsider using it as an insult, especially someone who is supposed to be polished, pristine, and a representative of this country, it is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!
