Tony Kornheiser suspended for slamming Hannah Storm’s outfit

Mess with the Storm and get tossed like a twister.

ESPN’s Tony Kornheiser learned the hard way that it is best not to be sexist and make fun of a lady’s outfit.

The co-host of “Pardon The Interruption” is on a two-week suspension for slamming Hannah Storm and her sassy get up, according to USA Today.

Here’s what the radio show host said according to the Huffington Post:

“Hannah Storm in a horrifying, horrifying outfit today. She’s got on red go-go boots and a catholic school plaid skirt … way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now…She’s got on her typically very, very tight shirt. She looks like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body … I know she’s very good, and I’m not supposed to be critical of ESPN people, so I won’t … but Hannah Storm … come on now! Stop! What are you doing? … She’s what I would call a Holden Caulfield fantasy at this point.”

ESPN executive vice president John Skipper called Kornheiser’s comments “entirely inappropriate” and hurtful, according to USA Today.

But what do you think? Was the suspension justified?

Just another case of how over sensitive everyone is now. Kornheiser was right by the way

I think he was correct. I am so tired of watching news anchorwomen who look like they are going to a cocktail party instead of reporting the news. The men dress professionally - what has hapened to the professionalism of their women co-workers.

It sounds like if anything, her outfit was what was inappropriate. She will be 48 in June. I don’t care how smokin’ of a body you have at that age, you still need to dress age-appropriate. Then we wonder why no one ever gives female sports journalists any respect?

Didn’t see it … so can’t make a judgement, but I doubt he could have made the description up and if it fits … well, she shudda looked in a mirror before going out in public.

Sounds like he’s still upset over the USA beating his Candian hockey team!

Heard the comments on his radio show live, laughed my butt off. He’s crushed so many people (its what he does), i can’t believe he got in hot water over THIS. Makes one wonder why criticism of her got a reaction when worse criticism of others was tolerated. Has she got an important ABC/ESPN boyfriend?

Hannah Storm is a a very attractive woman. Does she dress age appropriate for shows? no, probably at the behest of ESPN management. Kornheiser’s comments were unkind at best. He got his wrist slapped and apologized. Let’s all move on. But should ESPN be held accountable for the sexification of its female on camera personalities? Probably. But good luck with that, as it translates into ratings. Let’s all kiss Suzy Kolber and move on!

Male commenters are missing the point that these women (and men) do not get to choose what they wear on the air. That is dictated by management. Management knows that tight or revealing clothing on female talent gets ratings.

@Concerned: Glad somebody else out there gets it. Sex sells and she makes you want to watch a little bit more. After seeing the same highlights 3-4 times, she makes it a little more interesting. TK is not the most appealing of men and I’m sure has never been a part of the fashion world. Sometimes you just gotta avoid such comments about a co-worker.

I like Hannah, but she needs to eat a BigMac a day for 3 weeks so she can buy a size 2 and get out of the kid’s section

Hannah Storm can fend for herself. She is an ESPN reporter after all.Any woman who wants to dress like a skank gets what she gets.

My favorite Tony Kornheiser quote was when he use to call Sarah Jessica Parker “horse face toilet mouth”. I still miss his old ESPN radio show…

What does it mean to dress “age appropriate?” If a woman still has a smoking hot body at 60, then by all means, show it off. Hannah Storm is still hot, so I think it’s great that she shows us what she’s working with.

This is what Tony does and what ESPN pays him for and why we keep watching and listening. ESPN is forced to take action after the peep-hole incident to show that they are sensitive. Let’s see what happens when a report comes out that Hannah gave a snotty look to a male employee.

ESPN is trying to placate it women viewers by punishing Tony with this suspension. Shame on them! Tony calls it like he sees it and he sees it pretty good when it comes to her outfit.
