Beavercreek grad punked by Jeremy Piven on ‘Tonight Show’
Beavercreek High School grad Eric Rough kept his cool even after an “irate” Hollywood star doused him in the face with water.
A page at NBC in Los Angeles, Rough was punked by actor Jeremy Piven during a recent episode of “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
Piven, who once got mercury poising from fish, pretended to explode on discovering sushi in his dressing room.
He accused Rough of being the person responsible. At one point Piven called Rough, a 2008 Miami University grad, Opie Taylor. Rough kept his cool even after Piven throw water in his face.
“You’re awesome,” Piven said after the situation’s true nature was revealed.
He invited Rough to visit him on the set of “Entourage”, saying he could even join him on camera.
“But don’t out act me because you will be punished,” Piven said.
The clip of the confrontation also appeared on “The View.”
Reached by phone, Rough, 24, called the whole thing surreal.
Everyone was in on the joke except him it seemed.
“I am finding more and more people who knew about it,” he said, noting that its been a wild ride. “It was a great experience once the (prank was revealed). I like to enjoy a good prank as much as the next person.”
He said he doesn’t know if he actually land on “Entourage”, one of his favorite shows.

Cool! I would not want his job, though. First off, if I knew about Piven’s past with the poisoning, I would have probably spoken up and said something (like “wow, not the best backroom perk, is it?”) immediately upon seeing it there. hmmm…which would have ruined the skit and labeled me as ‘mouthy.’ So much doesn’t make sense nowadays, it’s hard to know when to open your mouth and when to just shut up and wait….

The so-called “little people” such as the pages are too soft a target…why don’t the punkers show some real courage and punk say, the network president?

He should be doing this for Conan O’brien, not Leno.

Taught Eric math when he was a freshman in high school. Great kid.

The other thing I thought about today is what people (even those with college degrees) are willing to take or endure in order to get or keep a job. I hope the young man didn’t mind too much and thought it was ‘funny’ because it really wouldn’t be all that funny if he didn’t. (however, it was amazing that he could keep his ‘cool’ like that—that’s the real ‘gift’— not the sushi.)

I grew up with Eric and am friends with his family. He didn’t mind at all actually. He is a huge Piven fan and the punk was made for him just for that cause. He is a really great guy, very nice and laid back. He’s going to go far in this world! Wishing you lots of luck Eric. XOXO
