Oprah’s ‘Ultimate Favorite Things’ to benifit Springboro school
From Lawrence Budd, Staff Writer:
Proceeds from an eBay auction of some of Oprah Winfrey’s Ultimate Favorite Things are to benefit fund-raising for Impact Point, a multi-purpose building planned by a private school in Springboro.
Gina Pangalangan, founder of the Minds in Motion school, and Tricia Fote, the school’s director of development, returned from Winfrey’s Nov. 22 Ultimate Favorite Things show with a Phillip Stein watch, Judith Ripka earrings, Ralph Lauren cashmere sweater, Flannel Tory Burch tote and shoes, and a Nikon camera.
Pangalangan and Fote were invited to attend the show, where they expected to be interviewed about their kindergarten-eighth grade school. Instead they were given this year’s Ultimate Favorite Things. Those not put on the eBay auction block for a week, beginning Sunday, Dec. 5, will be auctioned off at the school gala in March.
They hope to raise $500,000 for Impact Point, a 7,200 square foot building to serve students during the day and to be open to the community after school for physical education and arts.
