Dayton placed on map in soon to be released sci-fi blockbuster

The new trailer for the movie “Super 8” puts Dayton on the map.

Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the Gem City play a part in the highly anticipated flick from J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg.

A map of the Dayton area is shown during the trailer about a group of young friends from a small Ohio town who witness a train derailment while filming a super 8 movie in 1979. Mysterious disappearances follow the train “accident.”

Wright Patterson Air Force Base was mentioned in an earlier trailer. The film is due in theaters June 10.
