Department store offering free makeovers to 6,000 veterans
JCPenney and Iraq and Afghanisan Veterans of America are teaming up to make over 6,000 veterans using a million bucks.
The “Welcome Heroes” campaign aims to honor recent vets with the apparel needed to pursue new career opportunities or to enjoy the leisure activities.
To register for the JCPenney giveaway, military service members who served in Iraq or Afghanistan are invited to visit therucksack.org by Nov. 20. Those interested must first get a free IAVA membership at at iava.org. The organization is a nonpartisan, non-profit for returning soldiers.
More than 6,000 entries will be randomly selected to receive $200 in merchandise certificates for apparel available at JCPenney or jcp.com.
