Local festival to feature 12 movies that are 12 minutes or less

A lot can be can be expressed in 12 minutes or less.

The Media That Matters Film Festival will be presented at the Neon Movies, 130 E. 5th St., 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The festival will features 12 jury selected films tackling a range of social issues in 12 minutes or less.

Proceeds will benefit DATV which operates two cable access channels in the Dayton, on Time Warner Cable.

Admission is $10. Tickets are available at the Neon and DATV, 280 Leo St. They can also be purchased at www.datv.org.

The film festival aims to inspire people to affect change, said DATV Marketing Director Dan Suffoletto. He hopes it also encourages area residents to make their own films.

Audience members will receive a “Take Action Guide” that includes information about how they can use the messages of the films in their daily lives.
