Local Air Force couple gets Veterans Day surprise of dream wedding
Veterans Day must be extra special for the local military couple we told you about in October.
Air Force 2nd Lt. John Avrett, a student at the Air Force Institute of Technology, and Olympian Meghan Kinney, have won the Salute To Love competition sponsored by ObxBrides.com and Operation Homefront.
The contest was launched on Memorial Day and offered an active military couple a beach wedding on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Avrett and Kinney’s ceremony and reception will be April 14 at the Sanderling Resort and Spa.
Thousands and thousands of votes online helped them win.
“The three day bash includes a bachelor/bachelorette outing, rehearsal dinner and farewell brunch as wells as the delectable cake and lush flowers, multiple photography sessions, fully catered reception with entertainment and officiant - everything needed for the perfect wedding weekend,” a press release says.
