Free fish tacos for one day only

Long John Silver’s is offering a “Free Baja Fish Taco Day” on July 14, when the seafood chain will give away samples of its new menu item from open until 2:30 p.m.

There are several LJS’s in southwest and west-central Ohio, and you can use the Long John Silver’s store locator page on the company’s web site to find the restaurant closest to you. The Baja Fish Taco regularly sells for 99 cents.

The chain’s own web promotion acknowledges that the new dish “Sounds weird, tastes delicious” … kind of an odd endorsement, isn’t it?

Check out this Nation’s Restaurant News story for more on the promotion/giveaway.

You go on a tirade and you tell me to get over it, brandon? Wow, how about looking in the mirror sometimes. And I have had fish tacos in ohio, thank you. No. 1 Long John Silvers is not a he. No 2. They are the ones who called it weird. Poor choice of words. You get over it.

Being born and raised in Dayton, my idea of Mexican food was Taco Bell. Then I moved to California. The thought of a fish taco wasn’t very appealing, until I tried a fish taco from Rubio’s in San Diego. I was hooked after the first bite.

it does sound a bit odd for a “fish and chips” house to offer something like this, but I will give it a go. I like LJS fried fish, it beats the grass clippings and random leaf droppings that is the trend in way to many places today. that and they won’t get sued for using italian dressing

Fish taco’s, if prepared correctly are gooood! I do not see this being the case with the nasty “fish” LJS uses. If you want a good fish taco, you’ll probably have to go to a good restaurant. Which LJS, of course, IS NOT…

They are not weird in California and the southwest. In case you did not notice you are not in either location. You are in Ohio. In Ohio that sounds weird. There are many things that are completely normal in one location of the US and just weird in another. He was just trying to introduce a product that is not normally seen in certain areas of the country. Get over it.

A good fish taco, prominent in California and the Southwest US, can be delicious. They are not weird. LJS is weird.
