Ribbon-cutting today for new Centerville restaurant
The new Kabuki Korean-Japanese Restaurant at 848 S. Main St. in Centerville that we told you about back in April will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. today, July 8.
The ribbon-cutting will be attended by Centerville city officials and local business leaders. An open house will follow the ribbon-cutting and will last until 6:30 p.m. Free samples of sushi and other dishes will be available.
Kabuki Kitchen occupies a space that formerly housed the Golden Phoenix restaurant. The new restaurant is owned by Mae Brown and Yi Ho Suk and is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
For more information, call (937) 435-9500.

I had lunch there the other day. They did not serve kimchi with lunch. THIS IS NOT THE KOREAN TRADITION. I had to ask for some. Then I got only one small dish of standard kimchi. Not what I expected after working in Korea for many years. The food was very good but, one should not need to beg for kimchi at a GOOD Korean restaurant. jambalayamanBy Aaron

T, Marion’s doesn’t have tvs. I find this annoying because I enjoy a reds game with my beer and pizza, but Marion’s is good enough to forgo the tv…plus if you’re lucky you get to see the Centerville legend: The “mayor” aka the “Urch” aka “That guy from Bill’s Donuts”By D

another “news” story about another restaurant. there’s been a plethora of stories about restaurants moving, opening, closing or fighting over some trivial matter. somebody at the d-d-n who assigns these stories must weigh 500 lbs.By Schnucks

I work close, but haven’t had a chance to get there yet. I like both Korean and Japanese so I really want to try this place. Hopefully they will do better than the last two places there, both Chinese.By Bob

Yes, Barry it will make the anti-sports bar crowd happy. I am tired of going to eat and having to yell over 10 televisions. I would actually like a place that is nice with no televisions and to serve American food but I guess that will never happen.By Barry
