VANDALIA — The World Cafe has opened at 768 Northwoods Blvd. east of I-75.

The new restaurant is owned by Robert Krzak, a native of Koszalin, Poland who moved to the U.S. in 2005. It has six employees.

The World Cafe menu includes a Mandarin Wrap with chicken, Mandarin oranges, almonds and Hoisin sauce; New Orleans Muffuletta with Genoa salami, ham, and olive salad on French bread; and Brazilian Steak sandwich with sliced steak, Provolone and Chimichurri sauce on French bread. Side choices include tortilla chips and salsa, pita chips and homemade hummus, or potato chips and a pickle.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. The restaurant is closed Sundays for now but intends to open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays in about two weeks, Krzak said.
