New, locally owned pizza restaurant opens in Troy

A new pizza restaurant named A Fat Boyz Pizzeria that we first told you about back in October has opened at 1469 S. Market St. in Troy.

Owner Jim Hatcher said the restaurant — which offers a menu of pizzas, subs, sandwiches, salads and desserts — opened in August and has had a strong start. The restaurant seats 70 and offers carryout and a drive-through window. It does not deliver.

Hatcher, who lives in Butler Twp. in Montgomery County, said his background is mostly in sales, but he has worked in restaurants and managed a pizzeria.

Fat Boyz employs 10 people. It’s located about a mile north of I-75 off of exit 69, on County Road 25A (South Market St.). Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (937) 339-6969.
