New restaurant opens across from Eastown Shopping Center
DAYTON — The new restaurant called Antojitos Criollos Authentic Puerto Rican Cuisine that we first told you about in October has opened at 3937 Linden Ave., across from Eastown Shopping Center.
The new restaurant’s owners are Francisco and Iris Matias of Sabina and their son Francis. Francisco Matias said the family has been serving their specialties at Puerto Rican festivals in Dayton, Columbus and Cleveland and were looking for a spot to open a restaurant.
The location formerly housed Mi Tierra, a Mexican restaurant.
The menu includes Camarones en Salsa (Shrimp in Sauce), Mofongo de Platano (Mashed Plantain with Garlic), Alcapurrias (Stuffed Fried Cassava). Lunch specials include Arroz con Pollo y Habichuelas (Chicken and beans with rice), Costillas Asadas (roasted ribs) and Ensalada de Bacalao (Codfish Salald).
The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. For more information, call (937) 259-2207.
