New restaurant now open in Kettering
KETTERING — Amicis restaurant, which we first told you about last month, has opened at 1122 E. Dorothy Lane in the building that previously housed Millie’s Philly Cheesesteaks and Barbie’s Bistro.
Amicis (A-MEECH-eez) employs 15, seats about 50 including its patio and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. It is owned by Kent Kumbroch of Oakwood, who is also president of Electro-Polish Inc. in Dayton.
The eatery opened Thursday, and, “Business was a lot better than we thought it would be,” Kumbroch said.
The menu contains American, Caribbean and Italian specialties, including vegan and vegetarian options. Breakfast includes a variety of omelets, and the restaurant will serve gourmet brick-oven pizzas as well as sandwiches for lunch and dinner.
Amicis has a license to sell liquor, but not beer and wine. The hours are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, call (937) 732-8356 or check out the Amicis Facebook info page.
