All-Decade Teams: Dayton, WSU, Miami

If you were naming All-Decade basketball teams from the University of Dayton, Wright State and Miami, here are possibiliities from each school.

I didn’t adhere strictly to the five typical positions on a team — I went more with overall talent and impact — and still I struggled with each squad. Specifically, I waivered on whether to elevate Mark Ashman at UD, Jordan Pleiman and Israel Sheinfeld at WSU and Kenny Hayes and Nathan Peavy at Miami.

In the end, here’s what I came up with.

Ummm, must be a UD grad that thinks the decade ends at the end of 2010. 2010 is the beginning of a new decade.

I would take WSU 1st team head to head vs the other two teams hands down. Dayton certainly has the strongest history, reputation & conference - but WSU has been DI a short time comparitively. One more reason for these 2 teams to play…cmon UD - get off your duff & make this happen. You would still win 75% of the time.

By Whatifsports.com The All Decade WSU team beats the All Decade UD team 82-73 on a neutral court. Tony Stanley had 20 for UD while Vaughn Duggins had 16 for WSU. http://whatifsports.com/ncaab/boxscore.asp?GameID=1646915&nomenu=1

Brooks Hall? Chris Wright? that’s two players on your 1st team who came with press but didn’t (or haven’t yet) live up to expectations at all. Hall had a nice career but not better than Marshall by any analysis. and Wright, while supremely athletically gifted, is still not much of a developed basketball player. is he the best athlete to play in the last 10 years? yes. can he become one of the five best? yes. but is he already? i say no.
